Default Hopefully bringing home my first Corvette!!!

It's been a long road full of F body's but I'm hoping to be the owner of a 2007 C6 Z51 (Monday).

Black
25k miles
One owner.
Bone stock

I have been been searching for the past few months on autotrader and the local craigslists. I really wanted to get an LS3 but it seemed this was the best bang for my buck. From the research I have done, the intake doesn't flow for crap. A good cai, full exhaust and fast 102 with a tune should put me just over 400rwhp.

Then later down the road if I want to do a cam and heads I should be high 400rwhp, which is more than enough for a weekend toy.

One thing I have noticed, Corvette tax, holy....! $1400 for an AXLE BACK?!?! 😐 Ugh.

Hopefully I'll have some pics to show y'all come Monday! Let me know if you have any advice or things I should know. Also best place to get aftermarket go fast goodies

I'm not positive. I'm having the vin and rpo codes checked tomorrow by a buddy that works at GM. Would it be listed there?

Gotta love a low mileage, one owner 'stock example. Nice find! Enjoy it.
I just hit 30k miles on my two owner C4. They are fun to own and drive.

Picked it up lastnight!

This was my first time in a C6 let alone driving one. It's amazing.

Plans are as follows:

Cai
Fast 102 intake
Longtubes
Orx
Corsa or borla axle back, still undecided.
Tune

That should hold me off for awhile. In the meantime going to enjoy what's left of this Michigan weather.

That's some nice wax on that bad boy, looks good. Skip the 102 till you got a cam and get corsa

Congrats.

Stock ls2 intakes are really restrictive.

Still has some swirls that needs to be taken care of but I feel that's going to be inevitable.

I don't think that option came until 2008.

Thanks everyone!

Wife bought me a set of C7z wheels for my birthday.

In the middle of lowering it as we speak.

Nice C6. What kind of heads do you plan on going with? Or do you plan on working over and porting stock heads?

Not sure if I'll do anything to the heads. Probably cam only. But that's down the road.

Nice car!

You can always go custom on the exhaust after the X pipe, piecing together the muffler, tips, etc. how you want and just taking it to a shop.

No need to pay the corvette tax unless you want a direct bolt on.

Could also try to find used stuff in very good condition.

Unfortunately there aren't very many quality exhaust shops around me that I would even trust.

Also anything I come across used is usually just under what it costs new so it's a no brained to spend the couple extra hundred bucks and buy new

Nice dude! As far as the exhaust is concerned, I don't know where you're looking but for about 1600 bucks you can get a cat back, an axle back is about 600 bucks on texas speed's website.

Thanks!

As for the axle back systems you're seeing are without mufflers.

Corsa axles backs with mufflers are just shy of 1500. Another 1500 for a set of long tubes and orx.

I have been listening to countless amount of exhaust sound clips for this car and nothing comes close to the Corsas.
