Default F-body.org/gears?

I put in the info for my car.
98 TA A4
stock tires
3.23s

But theres no way this is right... did I do something wrong?

whats not right? maybe your car doesn't have stock gearing..or the tire size is taller than stock. are you sure you have 3.23s and not 2.73s?

Look at 4th gear in the higher RPMs....171mph at 5000rpms in 4th?

cause Ive been 155 in my friends z28, he had 2.73s and it was almost at redline.

My thing is my speedo is off, so I can't tell how fast im going. And I have a good streatch of road out in the country, and want want to see what I can get it up to.

So if I get it to 5000rpms in 4th gear ill be going around 170?

That doesnt take into account aerodynamic drag.
That is why those numbers appear high.

You wont have any HP to pull that high in an overdrive gear.

So when you try to top out an A4 car your in 3rd gear?

you'll be shifting out of 3rd into 4th around 144mph, but your gonna run out of steam around 150-155. The car just wont pull anymore. You need major horsepower to overcome the drag speeds that fast will cause.

Pretty much.

The one time I went 155+ I was hitting some sort of limiter in 5th gear, I switched to 6th but the car just didnt have enough power to accelerate in that low of an overdrive gear. Im pretty certain you'd run into the same problem at the top of 4th in an automatic going 150+.
