Stock: what kind of RWHP?

Default Stock: what kind of RWHP?

On a stock 99 WS6 TA, what kind of RWHP is there? I know that the car is rated to 320 HP, but that's not what's getting to the pavement. Anybody know?

My `98 Formula 6spd made 300 rwhp and 322 rwtq on a Dyna pack
with a lid and a catback.
Sounds low but the car has 110K miles and the original clutch.

depends on transmission, usually its like a 15% drivetrain loss for stick and 20% loss for auto. so it varies.

320 was for advertising, it has the same 350HP that the Vettes do. I'm going to guess 305RWHP 310RWTQ bone stock.

a4s can go for as low as 290, m6s around 305....or they can be higher by about 20 hp each

yeah that's about right. They did a side by side dyno of an LS1 Vette and a WS6 TA and they were identical in HP ratings. What you read in their brochures are both wrong.

325rwhp 345 rwtq = Stock for me (basically the factory ratings to the wheels )

of course they have to make the vette look like it has more power and to be faster otherwise people wouldnt buy as many.

Yeah usually people see anywhere from 290-330 depending on what year usually the 01-02s are higher b/c of the LS6 intake

hmm so how would the 99 trans am ws6 rate up against the newer mustangs *anything from 2000 til now* ?

The new Mustang has a pretty good gearing for 1st and 2nd. So it will probably hang with ya (within 2 cars), but once you hit 3rd or 4th you will drop them like 3rd period french.

yeah those newer stangs are rated at 300, but thats flywheel, where are our LS1's are underrated

why is it that a4's dyno less than the m6's............just curious?

A4s dyno at less because a lot of power is lost at the torque converter, which is a "fluid clutch" whereas an M6 has a true clutch (direct connection between the engine and trans).

New Mustang GTs are slower than the old ones. I have yet to see a new one beat the last body style.

^^ i see the new ones beat quite a few of the older ones. but yea A4's loose more pwoer through the drivetrain then am M6. But also bare in mind bigger stalls on A4 cars will show less hp but will most likely walk all over an M6 car with the same basic mods

ive still destroyed quite a few new gts...to many people think a new car can out do a car thats a few years older...

yeah, its like the new gto's..... people say ohhh they have 400 hp(flywheel) but i keep seeing them get walked by f bodies with very little mods( intake, exhaust). dont get me wrong i like the gto's and keep thinking about getting one but watching them get beat by random cars is killing it for me.
