My leaking T-tops (Part II) When I got the car a drizzle came through and the T-tops dropped around a thimble of water on each seat. this set poor with me seeing as the rain was not that "heavy"
I posted up and then looked in my owners manual and called the DFW modified shop's owner.
I reported my findings that GM Dielectric silicon would help
LS1tech either poo-pooed it or said it was a long shot.
I slathered all seals with it.
Today it has been raining on and off all day. I have driven the car in downpours so bad ppl stopped on I20, and I have sprayed the window seals from 3' away with a powerwasher at a car wash.
The only thing that got water in (2-3 drops on the driver side) was the power-washer and that cant be helped.
Just wanted to report back that the stuff worked as I had hoped and not a drop is on my seats as we speak and the rain comes down outside

So will any dielectric grease do, or does it have to be the "GM" stuff?

One or two of my club guys have had this issue over the years, might be nice to have a tube laying around if somone needs it.

Just ask the parts guy for "Dielectric grease" for your T-tops. He will know what you mean. Or look in your owners manual. It would be in the back under maintenance and recommended fluids ect.

lol. a lid is a must.
SFCs are worth everything they cost, but it sucks when you already have ripples in the rear panels from the body torqueing.
but since you have T tops, get em!

A lid is definately a must... I got mine for $85 shipped and that was higher than some of the ones I've seen on here. I'm 95% sure it was new though... didn't have any rub marks on it or anything.
Get a lid at least. For less than $100, you can get some power back that the stock airbox robs and get a much throatier sound at WOT.
My girlfriend is getting me SFCs for Christmas and getting them put on for my birthday (25 days after Christmas).

My car is my one and only. It's my DD, my winter car, my summer car, my fun car, my every car. But that's not stopping me from modding it. Other than the SFCs, my parents ordered me a Pro 5.0 for Christmas.
There's nothing wrong with making your DD perform better and drive better. SFCs are supposed to make a day-and-night difference too. I can see a big use for them in a DD. They're supposed to get rid of rattles, creaks, etc. and just make the car feel a whole lot stiffer while driving.

SFCs do just as much good on a street car as a race car. You just can't understand how much they firm up the body until you get a set.
