Default Launching an auto with 2.73's

whats the best way of getting out of the whole with these gears!? I never tried launching at tht high rpm, but when i do a little i burnout and it just dont take off, ha. That being said, i love the 28ish mph downshift, feels SOOO fast, if people with automatics were gonna race a stick, wouldnt tht be where everyone would wanna race. Cuz my car doesnt really feel fast anywhere else but about 28mph downshift and 70 mph. How do people race auto's to get a slight advantage

With a stock stall and 2.73s,its basically the slowest option for the LS1.
Gears(like maybe some 3.73s)would cost you 400-500$ installed.
A stall is gonna cost you 450-750$ in parts and about 300-350 to install.Prices vary on that though

I had a 2.73 and I put a 3.73 in my rearend and it's a huge difference. I'd say go with both gear and stall if you can afford it. But I would get the gear before you get the stall. JMO

I agree with going to 3.73 gears first! Its a night and day difference and it makes the car a whole lot more fun! I just got my stall about a month ago and i love it too but i still say gears first then stall. Unless of course you can afford both, then do it!

If you go stall then gears you run into the problem of the stall is not enough for the gears... I vote gears first.

Gears first. It's the cheapest way your going to feel the difference. If you get more bucks then add the stall.

i liked my 2.73s when i had them, there not so bad...esp when your motors barely pushing rpms and your doing 120....just footbrake it till its about to break loose, then launch it

lol yeah, not when you don't have dr's though. if you start spinning off the line, it's hard to stop

at the 1/8th mile, i literally spun half way down the track. hah

i would go gears, i had a Z28 that had 2.73's and even though the gas mileage was great, it just had no real get up and go to it with the 2.73's. JMO
