+1 I let a buddy drive my car and rip on it a few times, felt like a completely diffrent car in the passengers seat.

I still think my car is slow even though I haven't lost a heads up race, I guess I just have the FI bug.

My car was stock for less than 24 hours. As soon as i bought it off ebay i ordered the Kooks Lts, Lid, SFCs and arranged for the custom TDs to be put on. I honestly couldn't tell that much of a difference between that setup and stock. I also lost to a stock camaro ss (auto). I think it must have been the Intake that was bogging the car down though, because it had the old ls1 and the camaro had the ls6. Maybe I was just a shitty driver too. Who knows.

my car was stock for about 6 hours before I put a buddys SLP catback on it, and ordered a SLP lid. With that setup, even with 2.73 gears. she cracked off a 13.28 @ 107

I love my car... i've had it over a year now and it doesn't feel slow... feels a little "slower" compared to when I first got it... but when I want to mash the pedal and bang gears its still violent.

Sometimes Jake and I visit surrounding car lots just to experience the B/S some car guys tell folks that walk on a new or used car lot. Not that I know everything about the performance world and all cars performance. Did I miss the year of SS you have? Oh well, good luck have fun be safe. We you do take that beast to the track I wouldn't tell anyone you expect to run 12's out of box/

An old man and his dog - Jake
Did you look at his mods? I ran 12's with fewer mods than he has. Just headers, ORY, and catback. Considering the consistency of the A4, I would say it should be easy for him to run 12's.

**** no I'm not disappointed.

Even if I was, there are hundreds of things you can do to 'em to get it just how you like it.

I <3 the LS1...almost to the point of obsession.

Spot on!

Another tidbit: if you feel your LS1 car is slow, drive a POS 4 cylinder rental for a couple days. When you come home and jump in your hotrod, your love for it will be restored.

I have a 94 sentra 5 spd that I drive during the winter and I got back in my formy after about a month and it felt like a freaking race car. Crap, mine is only a 2.73 A4 LT1.

3.73s in mine (from 3.23) made a big difference in the "feels fast" department, especially from a stop or slow roll...

Develop some more torque for your ride and it will feel like a new car if the improvement is significant enough.

Seriously....

+1 to that!

and besides, whenever I get bored with my car, I just go on a bunch really shitty test drives at dealers. By the end of the day, I'm loving my car again.

You could also go get in a 2v GT. Buddy just got one, an 02, nice looking car, sounds mean. He was following me home and went WOT for a little flyby. I was watching him go and I couldnt help thinking "Man, I would defuckingstroy that car in a race"
This is the exact reason why I sold mine. Sounded good, looked good, but man it was **** slow

When I first got my TA I was a little disappointed after reading up on how powerful the LS1 was. After a couple WOT runs that changed my mind real quick! I can't believe how tame this car is around town. Whenever I feel like it is slow and get a little bored with it, I take my 155hp Grand Am for a ride and I realize how good I have it. I think having a stock stalled A4 and 3.23s have something to do with it, but that will change shortly

I agree whole heartedly on how linear the car feels.

Down low, my M6 Lt1 feels like it'd rip my brothers M6 LS1's face off, however, from a dig/roll he is right next to me.

Next we play with my little winter beater, GST eclipse (2800lbs, 20psi....was trapping 99mph on only 11psi). Lol, aside from a traction game, when the GST hits the powerband/boost it feels about 10x more volitale than the ls1. It's like everything happens at once....and FWIW, it kinda does.

We can go from ANY 30mph and up roll, and I won't leave his door ever. He his LM1/SLP lid.

It's just decieving driving the LS1, I'm like 'eh, I guess it's all-right' but if you watch the speedo, it's gettin busy. Honest to God, I PREFER driving around town in my LT1, it feels faster down low, and the steering doesn't feel as heavy.

I'm quite curious to get these gears in my stang and line up to see how that compares. He should get mauled, but who knows. I'm at @ 320rwhp on a dynojet 296/315 on a super stingy mustang dyno. Car is @ 3200. Right now with 2:73s I can rail it at 40mph and put the car sideways in my lane. But who knows lol...my powerband doesnt start till 3100, that plus traction, it should be interesting.

It's just a beater
Purely for not ruining my other cars in the salt.
I sold my 'fast' one.

But with a 60-1 and some C16 I can come a knockin!

I sold my TA and have been driving a truck for over 3 years - the 99 Z28 I picked up felt stupid fast for about a week! Now I'm used to it again.

I had a bolt on 96z and got used to it...it was quick but it wasnt fast to me, after driving trucks for the past couple years, I took a ride in a buddies h/c/i T/A putting about 450 or so to the ground...I cant explain how good it makes you feel and how nothing else ******* matters...thats why we do what we do
