Default If you haven't seafoamed, do it!

I just seafoamed my 75,000 mile camaro yesterday for the first time and I have to admit, it definitly helped. I would post some pics but i quit recording when i turned the car on for the first time nothing smoked, so I thought my motor was clean, then I took it for a "spirited ride" on the highway the best way to describe it is it looked like a spaceshuttle launch, cars had to pull over on the highway because they couldn't see. sorry mother nature

I did it to my car when it had about 37k on it, and it smoked for about 3 blocks. I haven't noticed any better gas mileage or smoother idle.

I recently started a 81,000 mile junkyard engine and seafoamed it twice, then poured the rest in and never shut it off. Heres a pic of the TB so I know they didn't keep up with the maintenance. http://jayscarsite.homestead.com/files/IMG_0130.JPG I cleaned that by hand BTW. In a few more miles I'm going to add some to the oil and follow that procedure.

It's basically an internal engine cleaner that you put in the the gas tank, throttle body or vacuum lines, and the oil. It knocks out a lot of carbon deposits inside the motor. Do a search on it and check it out yourself. It's good stuff.

if ur motor was in bad shape befor hand it is likley, seafoam destroys all the built up deposites in the engine, if those deposites hwere actually helping due to patching up problems, it is very likly that it could have killed the old motor by helping it to much lol.

Where are you adding it to to make it smoke so bad? If its in the oil, and the car is smoking, thats not good. Oil shouldnt be being burned any way. If it smokes so bad it sounds like it is getting past the rings which doesnt sound good to me.

I personally dont like additives like this at all. Its a substitute to proper maintenance. My ls1 has over 100k hard earned daily driven miles on it. I change the oil regularly and use good quality oil. It never comes out looking toasted, and burns less than a quart evey 5k miles.

i did it to mine, im getting like 50 more miles to the tank, before in a full tank i only got around 145 miles out it. Now with a full tank driving it like a crazy man im getting 200 miles out of it with still a little of gas left! Not to mention the car accelerates faster and shifts smoother! I suggest to everybody to seafoam the car.

What is smoking is the stuff you are burning out of the intake, not the crankcase.

I put it in the oil, gas, and the vacuum line attached to the brake booster (which is what really made it smoke) its supposed to smoke, its not bad for the car. im changing my plugs, fuel filter, and oil too, just to make sure its fine. read the seafoam sticky, then judge. word to anyone doing it--make sure you have a buddy video tape it right before you drive it on the road the first time, i wish i did

any local parts store should carry it. i got mine at advanced auto...get 2 cans of regular seafoam and 1 can of seafoam deep creep..oh and a skinny funnel. its really easy, the hardest part is changing your oil after you run the seafoam in iy after 100 miles
