Turn Signal Socket P/N ?
My front right turn signal light socket is corroded and keeps burning out bulbs on my 01 TA. I went to Autozone and they told me it was a dealer only part. I find this hard to believe.
Does anyone know of a part number for the replacement socket?

I can't help you with the part number but no it isn't a dealer only part. I was told the same thing when I was looking for tail light sockets on my T/A, they're just too lazy to look it up. Hope you find it though.

85830 is not the correct part number....that socket works on late 70s GM vehicles. I just spent about an hour up at AutoZone figuring this out. Does anyone know the right part number? The part number they told me would work is 85881, but it says on the package it is for GM vehicles from 89-96.

I replaced both signal housings and sockets... I was amazed at how great new housings looked(I would almost call it an appearance mod), and now I can drive in rain/wash the front of my car without risking burnt out bulbs.

I just stopped by AutoZone, and they told me that they don't carry any triple wire sockets like the one I showed them. Does the 85881 version work with the 3 wires? If so, how do you install it?

I bought mine at Autozone and it will work just fine. I don't remember the part number, but is a normal stock item.
But I haven't installed it yet. Mine wasn't burnt, it was destroyed in an accident. What I'm thinking of doing is going to the boneyard and finding another car where the socket will work, and swap the wires (don't have any F-bods, I checked last week). I'm sure that this same socket was used in many vehicles over the years, so it shouldn't be hard to find one. I'd just rather not splice in a cheap Taiwan connector if I don't have to.

Well, it turned out that guy was wrong! After I jot down the part number, I called back there and asked them to check their inventory list, and they had it. I went there today and bought the 85881 socket. That guy made me waste gas.
I took out the new wire and installed with the current wires. It fit into the housing quite nicely. I didn't have the appropriate bulb to put in, so I just tested the electric current on the empty socket. The blinker line doesn't pulse on the meter, and hasn't since I accidently touched that end with one of the other two wire ends and sparked. The meter did show a current when I turned the dash light on, so it seems that a component in the blinking system got damaged from the spark. I checked the fuse, and it was still intact. So apart from the fuse and blinker (which I understand is after the fuse and therefore wouldn't be blown), what else could have been damaged by the short that's involved with the blinking?
Also, do the 3 wires have to go into the socket in a particular order? I think two of the wires have a blue color coding, and one with green. I put the green in the middle...
