I put my truck alt in and my gauge seemed fine but the other day it was shaking again, I had bought the wire Above but didn't swap that , would that cause the truck alt to react that way? Maybe the batt? Or the alt it's self ?

Also , I am planning on getting the batt tested(old optima batt)
And I am planning on swapping the wire out , if both those show/do nothing I will be looking for another truck alt .. Prolly a new one, so my question is can I buy this truck alt at autozone? If so what can I type in to look it up? Thanks for the advice

Wink

I completed the kg3 alt install saturday, it 100% stoped the lught flicker, it was a easy direct bolt in. cost 81$ for the alt, with 1 year warranty and 13$ for the wire. Very worth wile.
thanks

Just an update, installed mine around 8,000 miles ago. Still working like a charm! Taking it to the track this Friday for the real test.

Default finally happened.

Well stocker finally quit on me. Going to upgrade to the kg3 145. My questions to you guys are. Is the replacement of the pigtail (4pin) necessary or only on the cars where the harness is to short? The big 3 wire upgrade where can I get it? or is it better to just do it myself ( getting the wire and the end links. If so how much wire do I need and do I run them inline with the existing wires or just in place of? Thanks guys I know these question have been asked a million times, just love my car and want to get it done right the first time.
P.S. Thanks again.

Does it have the same bolt hole pattern? Where is this alternator actually bigger at? My alternator is going out and I have it relocated up top on the passenger side head. I also have my fuel line to worry about since I have after market rails. If you don't think this will work, who makes the best stock alternator?

the AD244 has the same bolt pattern as the CS130......truck style that is......both can come with different housing configurations...........sometimes the turbo guys have to stick with the smaller housing of the CS130.............the alternatorman does make built 130s

went to the salvage yard today bought a alternator ($65 1 year warranty) off a 2003 silverado 145amp kg3 installed it ,bought the pigtail from oreilly pt1136 installed it, and NO MORE lights flickering and no more voltage drops. took it for a drive had the AC blasting the bright lights on and the 1000 watt amp system bumping full blast ,nice and steady at 13v. even turned on the blinker to see if the volt needle would pulse and it didint . just want to thank the O.P 00pooterSS for helping me through this thread and P.M's
