check your yellow pages for plastic suppliers. I've bought lexan, pvc, etc. But you'll generally have to buy a 4 x 8 sheet.

Piedmont Plastics if you can't find what you're looking for locally. Big company.

Any opposition to thin aluminum? I'm just bringing that up because it's readily available at Lowes or Home Depot.

Either way, I'm curious to see what you come up with and would like to see pics when you get it done.

USPlastics is a broad range supplier. If you want to solvent-
weld they have the cements too. Harbor Freight sells hot
air thermoplastic welding setups for fairly cheap (I have one,
still in box). You want to know your working temp, plastics
like ABS thermoform easily which is not a good thing in the
engine bay, probably OK outside.

Laying up fiberglass by hand, or to a mold, is another way
to go for things that need to hold shape and be rigid.

Fwiw if you are making something similar to the setup that chris1313 designed I would do it out of at least 1/8" abs. Heat isn't an issue where it is located and the material is a bit lighter than aluminum among other advantages.

Sabic polymershapes is a national chain here, Last 1/8 " 4 by 8 sheet of abs was under $45. If you can get to an actual plastic distributor, a whole sheet can be less than a partial sheet from other places. Fabrication shops may have off fall sized acrylic & lexan for reasonable.

Haven't been able to locate sheets of nylon 66 anywheres, but haven't asked a live person either. most all applications of it are cast into the shaped part, not sheet form. most manufacturers probably would only quote a large request for something like that. The only new sources I,ve seen are white repair rods & high heat kitchen utensils.

going to be exactly like the ssra/chris 1313 ram air. i originally had a ssra on my cam/bolt on setup but now since im a max effort 383 i want to make the ram air bigger so im going to notch the rad support and make the ram air box alot bigger then the ssra/chris 1313

just saw the chris 1313 is made out of aluminum.. i think im going to do this with aluminum instead to save on cost.. should be doing it maybe late next week i will post pics of the final outcome

You aren't supposed to drive through rivers with your car.

How the hell did you do that? The scoop must have been submerged.
