Speed Engineering Race Version Headers Now Available!!

Twix mixt, that collector looks like shipping damage & would be easy for me to fix. If you can't , an exhaust shop could stick it over their expander & bump it just enough to round it back out for a minimal charge. the welding spatter is easy enough to clean up also.
if you have means to do so, not a bad idea to check ANY header or manifold flange for straightness. I own an 18" wet stone I used for guitar neck fret flattening that would be great for this use. A scrap of thick countertop granite with stick on sandpaper makes a great straightening tool. Granite fabricators generally have scraps.
Any large lumps on inside or spatter can be cleaned up with double carbide burr bits easily. If you're just removing large protrusions, you shouldn,t be weakening anything.
PS, no one ever commented on a question I asked::::: Is there any proven way to keep some shine on stainless headers in use???

And thank you demonspeed for turning me on to speed engineering.

Unwrapped em a couple hours ago. They look good. Looks like the flange was cleaned up with a cookie maybe. No splatter. The welds seem pretty good as well. I might kiss a couple of them before installing, but all in all these are nice headers. Looove the fact that they have no air, egr nonsense. They are sexy. And for the price? OMG. I'll post my own pics this weekend. Thanks guys.

Oh I know you didn't wait. But after all the discussion you, I and a few other guys had earlier this year....on one thread I started myself that ultimately led me here as well as the "other" Speed Engineering header thread... I figured throwing your name out there would get our attention. Time to break out the digital caliper.

So it looks like the OD varies a a bit. I checked em all over, most measurements were a little bigger than 1.75, some were slightly under. Nothing I am concerned with. Again, very happy. Just wanted to throw these up for a couple of nerds like me who want and need actual measurements.

I'll still be a little while before getting to new headers. Was looking at merge spikes, such as stainless works makes. Have tig, I could cut the end of collectors off, weld in & reweld collector. Was wondering if this little detail could actually add a few hp.

Yes, they are already ordered. Were trying to hit the OBX header market, so unfortunately every additional thing we do will ultimately increase the price of the header which we're trying not to do. The OBX headers are so cheap it makes it difficult to compete as it is.

Still beats paying $500 to over 1,000. Just my .02 cents.
