anybody know if the y-pipe is the same for both the 1 7/8" and 1 3/4"? I bought a set of the 1 3/4" back in the beginning of 14 and looking to upgrade to the 1 7/8". Wondering if my existing y-pipe will work.

Looks like a Spohn:

Yes, the Y-Pipe is the same.

Thanks

7/8 even on a 5.7 they make more power than the 3/4.

Speed engineering, What header bolts come in the gasket kit you all sell?
Are they cheap or good bolts or studs?

Now when you say they make more power are we talking just peak hp & torque numbers or are we talking all through out the rpm range? The $50 difference between the two headers isn't a deal breaker for me I just want what's best for this car.

My 2000 SS with lid, KN filter, speed engineering 1 7/8 LTs. Ls6 intake. Put down 340/343 at 215,000 miles.

Never made less than 300 wheel torque.

Best out of the car was 12.5 with a 1.96 60' in great conditions. Is a 12.8 consistent car

a4 with 3.42

what are your guys thoughts on the whole 1 7/8" is too big for 346 cubes? I've seen mixed reviews. I'm very close to putting a set in my car and doing before and after dyno testing and track times compared to my 1 3/4" on my car in my sig.

I think 1 7/8 is fine on a stock cube ls1, especially with your combo. You have plenty of air coming in so why not have the bigger headers to let it all out.

Saw the true duals available now for Silverado, plan on buying headers and duals at same time for my truck. Any thing in the works on true dual set up for fbody? Be nice to buy 1 7/8's and true duals in one shot also.

Sounds good thanks. Yes, we plan on coming out with true duals for the F-Body as well. It will probably be the end of the year before we have anything available however.

Thanks

My drivers side collector could have used 1 full inch of a bend downward to make it horizontal to the ground. I have stock motor mounts.
I wonder if I got one of the sets that were older....??

We only adjust it 3/8" of an inch for some extreme cases we had seen at the time. Most vehicles didn't need any adjustment at all. Either way we haven't sold the old version in over a year.

Thanks
Sean

I am considering these headers, and have read about the drivers side welded upward just like LS6427 stated in his post , would like to know how many have experienced this since the problem was supposed to be fixed, I don't mean to bring up a bad subject or be negative, I just don't want to have to deal with that problem, thanks.

Just Bought the fbody 1-7/8 header & y pipe for my sons stock lq4 swap in his 02 ws6 this past monday.
I wasnt sure which ones to get either as it may mainly stay a stock 6.0 for a long while, but you never know
May get 243s & a small cam one day and thats it.
Either way i dont think the header size is a big difference vs your pocket.
You cant go wrong with either unless you are making big power & then we all know what route you need then

How far is your passenger head from the firewall?
I have the holly swap kit, plates & pan only.
I didnt want to spend big money on headers yet.
This seems like a good plan.

wannabefastcrf: We actually have C10 LS swap headers:
http://www.speed-engineering.com/ls-...p-headers.html

YZFZ28: If we saw any additional issues we would have made a second change. They fit just fine.

AnotherWs6: Lol

LS1 pwrd NOVA: Thank you for your order. I can't remember how far from the firewall they are off the top of my head, and we don't have an F-Body on hand to take a look at unfortunately.

Thanks
Sean
