Just curious, would going from my current bbk 1 3/4 headers and 2.5" y pipe to these 1 7/8 headers and 3" y be worth the money? I've been looking into these headers for a while and for the price they can't be beat, especially since they're stainless.

FWIW my car has cam/bolt-ons

I would say it would be a noticeable gain across the board. Depends on what cam you have but a good 15whp

I personally would save for some ported heads over switching up the exhaust.

That's been my original plan since I have some 799 heads, but since I'm pulling my transmission again I was thinking of things that'll be easier to do once it's outta the way.

Its a big price difference between ported heads and spe headers and y. Plus the better headers and y will help ported heads shine.

You can buy a set of Trick Flow 215 heads for a grand used.. Or spend $500 on headers and Y when he already has headers and off road Y pipe!

To me the gains switching wouldn't be worthwhile in comparison to a head swap. Especially since your car has the 799's. Maybe add a full 3" y pipe to the headers. But still IMO wouldn't be a significant gain for the money...Just my 2 cents

I haven't put the 799 heads on yet, but whenever I do Ill get the headers then since the heads will be off it'll be easy to put the headers in.

Any idea when the true dual exhaust will be ready to order for the Silverado?

Can't help myself. I'm going to keep it simple though. Long tube headers and a bigger dual exhaust setup without cats. I already have the cold air intake, so once I get all the part on, I'll get a custom tune and call it good.

hifi dream: Thank you for your order!

Rise of the Phoenix: Last we heard ETA should be around 1/15/16. Wish they were coming sooner. This kit has been taking longer than usual.

Thanks
Sean

Appreciate the update. From the one thread I've seen, they look to be a really nice setup for the Silverado platform.

Same deal on my end, T/A still eating money daily on the yeah I'm going to put a small cam in and call it done.

Next thing you know I've began building a damn racecar. 20k later; it will be done soon enough.

Then I saw this catback and thought what the hell, order a set of headers and a catback for the Escalade EXT.

Last few days I've been on BTR looking at truck cams......too old for this stuff anymore.

Corvette's and Camaro's sitting in the garage that never even get the covers taken off anymore. I'm convinced it's ADHD.

The exhaust is a true dual setup, not a catback, correct?

Correct,

From what I read and saw from the prototype it's a true dual.

Catback is a term that was used loosely if your asking on my above account.

Gotcha. The truck is loud now to most, but I'm so used to my WS6, that it's actually pretty quiet to me. It's got a dual setup on it (2.5" I'm guessing), but it still has both the cats on it, and then straight piped and dumped with turn downs after that. I think the long tubes and duals will wake it up big time.

What is the diameter of the Ypipe outlet after cutting off the reducer/part where it necks down? Is it possible to run a 3.5" bullet off it then?

Just ordered my 1 7/8th headers. Will be replacing a set of 1 3/4 BBK's. I hope they go in as easy as the BBK's did.
