Sean. I know this is a tough one to answer. I’m ls swapping my 2003 s10 crew cab. It was 4wd but I’ve removed all of the 4wd stuff, and converting to 2wd. I have been looking for some headers to accommodate my swap, and read this thread, because I’m considering the F body headers. I know whatever headers I go with will need to be kmodified and I’m totally ok with that. It’s still easier than building from scratch. A ways back in this thread a guy was asking about a S10 project and you mentioned that your early C10 swap headers were the tightest fit to the block. Are there any you sell that fit inside the S10 frame? Again, I’m ok with modifying, but with some direction, I hope to keep that to a minimum. Any help or guidance is appreciated. Thanks, George.

You may be better off starting with those. Just have to figure out if the front frame rails are wide enough.

i converted to rack and pinion steering. The steering shaft now takes a different path and will hit the header. I’d buy the stainless works longtubes for S10s, but I’d have to modify them, because of the R&P steering swap. I’m definitely not opposed to modifying, but I really don’t want to modify a set of $1200 headers. If I can find some that fit between the frame rails I will reroute the tubes I need to, to clear the steering.

If your looking for a longtube I would recommend our C10 swap headers. They are tucked in even tighter than some of our shorty headers, and will give you the best possible frame clearance.

Thanks

Thanks Sean I will give them a try. Do you have any rough dimensions? Mainly the height. Just making sure they won’t hang down too far below the frame. You do mean the part # 25-1026 correct?
These?

Yes, either 25-1025 or 25-1026. They are 16" from the center of the bolt hole down to the bottom of the collector.

Thanks

one last question. I’m about to order. I really want the 1 7/8” over the 1 3/4”. Do the 1 3/4” fit much if any tighter than the 1 7/8”? I read in this post where you said there was almost no difference on the Fbody headers. Does the same apply to the c10 headers? Thanks

I have a 67 Bel Air that I'd like to use your longtube headers on. This is a 5.3. Any possibilities. Thanks a lot.

Nope. You're deleting emissions equipment and also moving the cats to a different location. You can find headers with the emissions hookups but you still may get bit by the cat issue.

The C10 headers just showed up. Extremely nice product especially for the money. Unfortunately they aren’t even close to fitting. Not your fault at all. I took a chance and it didn’t pan out. I’m pretty bummed. I knew they wouldn’t be a fit but I hoped they’re be tight enough that I could modify them. What’s a little frustrating is that i was expecting they were going to be a tight fit. In my opinion they really aren’t a tight fit at all. Especially on the pass side. I know you cant confirm that any of your headers fit any other application other than what they were intended for. For a customer to expect them to would be stupid. I’m just a little disappointed because I was expecting them to be a little tighter fitting based on your description. Its a nice product and I’d buy from you again if I were looking for headers for a specific vehicle that you made them for. I will just try to sell these. Probably for a loss.

Sorry, to hear. Your more than welcome to exchange your longtubes for our shorty swap headers if you choose. Our shorties do stick out a little further width wise however.

Thanks
Sean

I put a set of the 2nd gen/A body/c10 headers on my 69 Tempest. Just wanted to give some feedback. They hang lower than my 3rd and 4th gen set. I had to raise the front of the car a couple inches. I'm using UMI swap mounts, so Idk, maybe there are mounts that set the engine higher. If possible on future runs to tuck them up higher, I'd buy at least 2 sets. I might put these on my c10 and use shorties for this car so I can lower it again.

I bought another set of your 3rd gen headers to see if I could make them fit the A body. The passenger side hit the frame and the driver's side hit the steering shaft, so no dice there. I was planning to try them on my K15 GMC though if they wouldn't fit the A body. I made them work with a little frame clearance, and re-angling the passenger side collector (Ignore my welds, I'm having a heck of a time figuring out why they are so gray)

With poly mounts and prying the engine every way I can, I can't get them to touch the frame.

One thing that might help is to get rid of the 80# of Bondo you must have in the front fenders. Those cracks are VERY incriminating...
