It will work will every torque arm probably. I've got a Umi tunnel mount and it works fine. It tucks up real nice to. It does come with plugs for all the 02 bungs. You should replace those old motor mounts when doing header swaps to stop the banging.

Mine will be arriving Wednesday. Can't wait to get them on and see how much they pickup over the 1 3/4" headers I have now.

I'm running poly mounts for the past year. Just a PIA to pull transmission. Had to pull intake off to get the top bolts.

I blew up an FLT level 5 trans and trashed the torque converter. They've since been replaced.

I've followed this thread for a while, but I don't remember if there was ever talk of possible making them for LS swapped 3rd gen F-bodies.

Hawk's 3rd Gen has their stainless works headers for almost $1100, the newer Hooker ones for $1100, or the budget ones for $700. $700 is pretty high when so many similar headers are $200-$400. As far as I know the Hookers require their engine mounts. If any other options exist for LTs I've never seen them.

A better, and cheaper option for third gens would be great. Have you guys considered offering them?

Thank you guys..

t_raven: We believe our 25-1025-1 & 25-1026-1 might work on the 3rd Gens, however we have never personally done or seen a swap from a customer to verify. Those headers are tucked in very tight however, and should have enough clearance.

Thanks
Sean

Sounds good. I know they fit the 2nd gens, but if you test them on any 3rd gens please let us know.

Thanks

My 2nd gen 1 7/8" F-body headers arrived about a week ago - took about 2 weeks to arrive in the UK. The box was a bit bashed and battered and one of the collectors a little flattened, but I sorted that quickly with a tube expander.

Very pleased with them and how they fit. Lots of room to the frame, and they tuck up to the floor nice and tight. Number 3 plug lead is very tight, but I swapped the standard connector for a slimmer one and it works OK now.

I had some flanges laser cut from 5/16" stainless at work and stitch welded them to the collectors. Mated up to my existing x-pipe after altering the lengths slightly, spacing was the same as my previous SBC.

So yes, very pleased with quality and fit.

Sera

Summit - it's a generic one.

Want to replace the whole system with stainless at some point, but that can wait...

The 1 7/8" headers do have a merge collector, correct? Isn't that the cone that extends extrudes from where the individual primaries meet?

They have standard collectors with merge spikes on the inside.

Thanks

Can you recommend a set of ignition leads which will work best with the 2nd Gen F-body headers?

#3 plug is very close to #1 cylinder tube and even though I changed the boots to super skinny straight ones and put a heat proof sleeve over it, it's still getting burned.

I might consider putting a dimple in the pipe for a bit of extra clearance...

Would the high heat MSD style ones work?

Speed Engineering, do you guys know what the primary tube length is on the 1 7/8" headers? How about the primary collector length? Just curious because I'm trying to rule out why my setup lost HP from 6,000 rpm's up after I switched from Stainless Works 1 3/4" headers to your Speed Engineering 1 7/8" headers.
