Got mine installed yesterday! Cannot believe how easily these went in, sound, look under the hood. The ONLY negative feedback would be the clamps. I have ran the TSP's, Pacesetters in other fbods that I have owned. The Speed Engineering Headers are well worth the $$$... Great job Sean!

How is the valvetrain noise with these? That is my only real concern compared to the other 1 7/8" longtube manufacturers. Is a thinner metal used?

I just put these in and the installation was easy breezy, the only complaint I had was also the clamps. They were to small to fit around the joints so I had to buy crappy u-bolt clamps for the time being until I can figure out a clamp to use that wont sacrifice ground clearance these u-bolt clamps take away.

Overall, the sound is great with my factory exhaust, fit was good, I am pretty satisfied.

WALKER 33272 Mega Band Clamps. They around $8 a piece from Rock Auto. I've used them on every exhaust system I've had on my car and are the only clamps I've not had leak. I especially like them for the y-pipe to header collector slip connections. When you crank them down they'll stretch over and create a nice seal.

14BFF: The only work on 2wd.

Thank you guys.. Ya, we are continuously working with the factory to provide better clamps. They have just recently added a wedge in the middle, which helps tremendously with clamping strength. Unfortunately, they didn't extend the straps to compensate. You can get the clamps on, they are just very tight. If you remove the wedge they should side on just fine. Or, if you grind a little of the wedge down it should side on smooth as well. Hopefully, our next batch will have a little longer straps.

Thanks
Sean

Came here to complain about the clamps, and see you are already on it. Wish I would Have came here before fighting them so much, and breaking every single bolt that was included.

Overall the headers and y-pipe are really nice, but I would suggest using some of the savings to go buy some good band clamps. Would still buy again though.

I have a 72 2wd k5 Blazer dropping in a 6.2 LS, my Blazer has a 6/8 static drop so ground clearance is my biggest factor, how low will the 1-7/8 hang below the frame rails, should I just stick to shorty headers? Any Pics of them installed?

Thanks guys..

Stilo: Our longtube headers are 16" from the center of the bolt hole down to the bottom of the collector. Hope that helps. If they are too low for you, our universal swap shorty headers will be back in stock next week.

Thanks
Sean

Do you guys have better clamps for your 1 7/8 long tubes? I put what you sent on and they don't tighten enough to prevent leaks. They won't even fit around the slip joint to be tightened down without taking the camp apart, and then you can't get the nut back on.

use the Walker mega clamps mentioned above like 5 posts. I just put the ones I got on and they are the best clamps ever. Sealed up all my leaks. They wont fit the y-pipe to i-pipe though becuase they dont make a two size clamp so I'm stuck with a 2 3/4 inch u-bolt clamp there.

Has anyone tried using V-band clamps and having them welded to the collector and Y-pipe and then on the Y going to the I pipe? I'm considering this as an option for my car as it would make pulling exhaust out so much easier (no lift). Also, is the Y-pipe shipped with plugs for the O2 bungs? Lastly, can someone post up a picture of how tight the system sits to the car floor once installed and how close the Y-pipe is to the cross member?

That's what I'm thinking about doing. Do you have any issue with it banging on the floor pans? Anyone running a MWC Torque arm and have issues?
