I'm sure you can find them cheaper, I was just listing a readily available and reliable source of new LS3 fuel rails. Otherwise you get people saying, "I'm not putting used fuel rails on my new intake my car is better than that."

Yeah, but if you got $350.00 plus tied up in injectors, then it's worth it to get the rails.

Then but a complete new LS3 intake with rails injectors and DBW TB for $500. Sell the TB for $150, the bare intake for $200, and your old injectors for $200. You'll have brand new 42 lb injectors and fuel rail, plus $50 in your pocket.

I was just starting to figure out the differences in the Fast Intakes and now a new one is coming out. I am sure when said and done I will be looking at different heads to complement a new intake for the LS1. Sometimes it sucks being new at this...

You'd be best starting with the heads and having a cam spec'd around the heads, intended use, other aftermarket parts, etc.

And that is exactly where I am at right now. Researching the best direction to go with a stock bottom end. Hopefully some numbers will be available on the intakes by time I get to that portion so i can make a better decision. I just keep looking ahead in my build before I get to the next step.

In my opinion, as long as you know you're not going with single plane intake, you can go ahead and figure out what heads you want to run and have a custom cam ground based on those heads, the rest of you mods, intended use, desired RPM range, etc. The cam can be ground knowing that you'll be staying with a composite type intake, regardless of which one you go with.

MSD has clearly done their homework with this thing. If they're going to turn out products like this I hope they start branching out into other areas like cylinder heads, fuel systems, valve train, and camshafts.

I picked up my LS3 intake, 42lb injectors, and rails for $300 from a vette with 8 miles on the odometer.

they claim to make 36hp over the competition... I would bet money the intake the compared theres against was not a fast....it had to be the weakest intake out there ever made ...I'm sorry but your not going to gain 36hp over a FAST in a profuction intake that they are going to sell.... I hope they can prove me wrong but I would bet money on it that thats not going to happen

Personally I don't care... Numbers are subjective anyway. For all we know they sprayed nitrous in front of the damn thing.

The runners look better to me... Straighter shot. More bell mouth on the individual runners themselves.

I'm just happy theres FINALLY some competition to the FAST and made of polymer.

Exactly. I spent quite a bit of time at the booth at SEMA looking at the intake, holding it, pulling it apart, and I was very impressed with it. I asked if this was an 'as cast' piece or if it had some work done to it, and they said it was as it would be once a consumer got it out of the box. There was very little casting flash or seems, the intake bell mouth looked really nice. Look at what it does for any intake, turbo or supercharger, an then imagine the impact to 8 runners.

I can't wait to put it side by side with my FAST and do a compare / contrast.

I am in the market for an intake for my 525hp ls3 (crate). I just checked, summit has it priced at $950 ish. Seems expensive.
