Oil in intake PCV test
Oil in intake PCV test I'm getting oil in the intake and on the intake ports on the heads, if I cap off the stock pcv setup and run a oil cap breather, is this a sure fire way to test if it was the pcv system putting all that oil in there?
Like could I just try cleaning it all and then leaving the oil cap off with the pcv disconnected and the intake capped off as a test to see if oil re-appeared on the intake / head ports?
Adding a breather on top of the stock oil cap won't work for me due to hood clearence, is there another kit that will replace the oil cap?

No other way to get oil in the intake track other than the PCV not working correctly. I have seen on a few M6 cars that had some kind of seperator in line with the PCV and it had a canistor that cought the oil and would hold a few OZ's and after a god day at the track beating on the car they just unscrewed the canistor and poored the oil back into the valve cover. Very nice set up but have never seen it for sale.
On a side note I have had a M6 and it would use/loose oil since every time you go for a high RPM shift the engine free wheels for a split second and has no resistence on it and aloughs the oil to get sucked ito the intake via the PCV.

No it says not to open the system up to the enviroment and use the factory air pump that is mounted behind the driverside fog light and run it to the valve cover as a vacuum pump. Alls you would have to do is get the pump to run when the TPS is at or above 75% throttle and it would work like a high dallor vacuum pump only electric. Either way I am just giving suggestions not trying to get anybody to do anything. If you don't wish to try this I understand.

Verdad Gallardo You could go the cheaper route and make or buy a seperator canistor and put it in line with the PCV hose to the intake and the oil will be stored in the canistor.
It maybe something to look into.

I already have the LS6 valley pcv, and a AMW catch can, still doesn't work so this is why I'm kinda at the end of the line for the stock pcv system. If I have to add a seperator on top of a catch can that's just too much.
WOW yea you have done almost as much as you can do with the stock pcv and it is still getting in. Man I fell your pain my old M6 car used like a quart a month with only going to the track about once a month but the rest of the time I drove it like I stole it on the highway to and from work. At this point I have nothing else I think would help out your issue. Sorry........
