Default Will my MAFT cancel out my aftermarket maf?

While doing a header install my friend said it might not work on my car.
I have the Granatelli MAF and I want to get a MAFT but he said they might cancell each other out.
Any ideas?

They can work together.

They "can" work but I remember Dave from Ramchargers saying that it is not a good idea and to not do it.

So why don't they work well together? I'm not sure I understand.

They work fine together. Leave the MAFT at zero and the PCM will never know it's there. The signal will be unaltered.

Thing is, a MAF, aftermarket or not, isn't always calibrated best for your car. So, a MAFT can still be a handy gadget even with an aftermarket MAF. Put the car on a wideband O2 sensor to determine if adjustments to the WOT mixture are necessary. For the base adjustment, put the Ltrims just below zero at part throttle (negative number.)

Whats the point in having the MAFT if it's set at 0.

Put it on a dyno and see how it runs.

I think the point is, you start at zero and
modify from there, if you have reason to believe
that your MAF is not giving you accurate flow
data. The other point was that a zeroed MAFT
will pass MAF frequency unaltered, hence will
not "cancel out" anything unless you tell it to.
