Throttel Body Coolant Bypass? Help?

Throttel Body Coolant Bypass? Help? Ok i want to do this mod to my car. Its the one where you eliminate the coolant going thru the throttle body. Where can i buy this and are there any negative out comes to doing this mod? I believe you just reattach the two under the t.b but not sure any info on this would be great thank you?

I had a spare piece of tubing and a couple of worm clamps when I polished my TB. Took the tubes out did the mod. Not sure if it helps or not, but why make the TB hotter than normal?

go by a new peice of hose from pep boys / home depot and run it around the two holes in the throttle body. It should take 5 mins tops. You are also going to need a set of hose clamps. I forget the size of the hose that i used take your old one with you when you go shopping. I think there was still a write up on installuniversity.com or try a search here. Easy quick pointless mod. I did it!

??? Not sure what you mean smg267? I was told that you could buy the kit and it comes with two caps for the holes on the t.b and the two lines that you take off you just connect with the hose connecter is comes with. what do you mean by run it to the two holes in the t.b how did u connect the gap that was made by taking the hoses out fo the t.b????

No need whatsoever to cap the throttle body tubes when the hose is removed...
1. Remove the rubber hoses from each metal tube on bottom of throttle body.
2. Look at where other end of each rubber hose is.
3. Buy new piece of rubber hose that is long enough to connect from one spot to the other, and hoseclamp it on both ends.
Less than $10 and 10 minutes until completion.
I did it even cheaper...and easier, IMO.
1. Disconnect rubber hoses from throttle body
2. Take two 5/16" barbed fittings and a union to make a hose connector.
3. Connect two stock hoses together using the connector you just made and also using stock clamps.
Cost me less than two dollars for the fittings at Home Depot.
You could also just use a short length of 5/16" tubing to join the two existing hoses together....No need to cap off throttle body

i used a peice of aircraft hydralic brake line titanium tubing lol becase i dident want to replace the hose since the fitting on the radiater and the fitting on the bypass tubing is different sizes so i used the stock hoses wit a peice of titanium tubing!

BMR claims 5-6 hp but I wonder. If you still want to buy the kit after everyone told you how to do it for little or nothing, I'm sure BMR would love to have your money.

It also warms the intake charge to improve combustion. This will negatively effect WOT power, but positively affects efficiency. Put simply...
Doing this free mod may decrease mileage ever so slightly, but you may also see a slight gain in power from having a cooler intake charge.

Wow great information guys thank you so much. Home Depot here i come! lol One more thing i have a reprogramed pcm that DEZ RACING did for me will this trip a sensor, set off code or mess up the LS1 EDIT PROGRAM they did for me? Also i have digital gauges that you plug into the OBDII port and it reads alot of info that the TECH2 that we use here at work. One of the things i can monitor is the intake temp i'm going to monitor this before and after the mod. I'll post results under this THREAD asap. Weather here alittle rainy lately so i'll have to wait a day or so. thanks again.
