Default Patriot Or PRC Springs

I broke a valvespring today, they were pac 1218s with about 25k miles on them. Didn't mess anything up (lucky) but I want to go to a double this time and im torn between the Patriot doubles or the PRC doubles? Anyone have any experience with either? Or shall I say miles...
Open to any other options too.

Patriot appears to be preferred.

So is it true that the PRC's have better parts to them and are acutally lighter than Patriots. I want something that'll last a while 30k plus if so.

We use to sell the same springs as patriot & moved to a new version. The deal is the gold / platinum spring setup is several years old & there's just better options now. The PRC new spring kit resists pressure losses far better than the old gold/platinum stuff & doesn't loose height after being used.

If someone spent some time with both springs on a spintron the decision would be a no-brainer. The new PRC spring is a large step in development past the gold/platinum stuff.

The .650" lift dual kit from PRC is $289.99, and we also have the Extra High Tensile (EHT) .675" lift kit for $349.99.

Here's the downside to their retainer/lock combo!

Ha! Looks like I've become the poster child for PRC springs.

For those looking for the cliff's notes, I measured the installed height of the Patriot Xtreme springs on my 100% new GM LS3 heads and found that their installed height measured at about 1.750"... low enough to put me into coil bind with the .650 cam I intended to run.

After being told by countless people that the patriots were the spring to get, I called TSP and they mentioned that I wasn't the first person to make this discovery, and said he was sure that the TSPs would install at the proper height. I got the TSPs and they installed at just a few thousands under 1.8", which left ample space for my .650 cam.

Makes me wonder how many people actually check these things before they install them.

It also makes me understand why I see so many valve spring failure threads on here.

Yea, sorry to use you as an example, but like you said, if more people checked them we'd have more threads to show folks!
