Default Another 5.3 turbo camshaft question

Well good to be a part of this forum again it has been quite some time since i have posted but i have gathered a ton of information from this site over the years. I have been searching around the web (including the site) and im having a hard time picking out a camshaft for my 02 5.3 that im getting ready to swap into my car. This is going into a 78 nissan 280z that is currently setup with an all iron 355 twin turbo, reason for going 5.3 is cheap fuel injection. The car has a th350 manual valve body trans with yank 4000 stall. This is not a daily driver however im entertaining the idea of putting the 6 speed back in the car as it was way more fun to drive. From what i gathered the ls6? cam sounds like a good turbo cam but i hate how it sounds sooo damn smooth gotta have somewhat of a choppy idle... the race weight of the car should be around 2600 lbs.. the gearing is 3.7 planning to go to a 3.5, tires are 26 inches tall...i have already got the victor jr efi manifold with a dfi holley 1200cfm throttle body if that makes any difference. Im planning to keep running my chinese 60/63 t3/t4's as i have beat the absolute **** out of them with not one issue! and probably use a log manifold unless i can make the cast truck manifolds work on the car... Im very open to ideas let me know what you guys think!

Couple profiles come to mine for me:
228/228 .600/.595 113
232/230 .600/.590 114

Cams are very close, so the Larger of the 2 will probably RPM a couple 100 more if that. Expect an RPM Band of 2600-6200k with these profiles.

For turbo cars i always recommend going with a cam profile that favors the exhaust duration that way you get an efficient spool up...im running a comp cam 224/230 on my NA ls1, but i think it would be great for your setup...def has the choppy idle you would be looking for

im looking for peak power around 6500, currently my car crosses the traps at 122 mph at 5700 on the limiter, i figured 6500 plus the 3.50 rear end gears i will be able to get 130 plus through the traps and that should be enough to go low 10s which is my goal. I am limited to these gear ratios due to the independent rear that i do not want to ditch at this time. Is 6500 too high to rev on an untouched 02 5.3? i have a buddy that beats the absolute **** out of his identical 5.3 in his 02 ss and no problems but its not boosted.. Only mods i was planning on doing was a cam, lifters, and valve springs.... anything else i should consider?

Billy Godbold @ Comp spec'ed me just the opposite profile for my turbo Buick (GN) engine. I ended up with a 215°/210° duration cam for a 235" motor. Of course, the heads breathe completely different, but the principle should be the same.

Thats interesting, I think the ability of the newer heads is why the added intake duration isnt needed, but i havent worked with a ton of buick motors so im not sure if thats why, thats just what my gut tells me

230+ @.050 range if peak power is desired past 6200k.
