Does anyone have the new Street Heat Stage 2 V2 ? I was looking at that, or possibly the SNS Torquemax stage 2 but I don't want to give up drivabilty. I was curious what stall converter and rear end gear was recommended for either of those cams.

I had originally planned on doing heads and cam this spring, but my budget can no longer afford that, so I'm looking to go cam only for awhile.

I know it's probably recommended, but is it necessary to change out the factory lifters while doing a cam install? The motor has 91K miles on it. In my mind if I have to pull the heads, I might as well put new ones back on!

I am running factory lifters with my SNS3. Is it a good idea? Yes. Required, no. Since I didn't pull the heads, I didn't replace the lifters. Had the heads came off, lifters would have been replaced.

Not necessary to remove heads just to install lifters. Is it a good idea as 69GTO said, yes. It's not required though.

If the heads are coming off, then yes by all means replace the lifters.

Interested in the SNS 3 for an 01 Firebird with 243 heads. I believe I read the PTV is fine with mild lobes, but can you confirm it should also be fine with standard lobes?

Here's mine SNS stage 3, cam only. Made 360 rwhp. Haven't had a chance to take her to the track either.

If the heads have not been milled, had larger valves than stock installed and a factory thickness .051" gasket is used you will have adequate p to v with the SNS Stage 3 and 243 casting cylinder heads.

My custom cam is installed and mostly tuned. Just a few mild issues to iron out like a intermittent mild surge seen in the video. Idles very nicely in gear at 900rpm. Pulls hard all the time at every RPM all the way to 7,000rpm. Very happy with it so far. Should have times and power numbers late spring/early summer. My Nitto 555rs are no match for my combo now! Waiting on a new pair of MT DOT bias ply tires for the summer.

Martin, which one of your cams would you recommend for a daily driver 2000 FRC corvette? Car is 100% a street car driven rain or shine. It's running a set of TEA stage 1 799's, tooley duals with steel retainers and more 5315's, I will also try to get the strongest manton pushrods I can fit as well. I was looking at the street heat stage 2 but also the sns stage 2 mild as well.

For a street car that gets driven as much as you're saying this car does, I'd forgo the two camshafts you've mentioned.

I have an excellent 227/231 114+2 that runs killer in a DD with excellent street manners and power.

It has a 45 IVC and 51 EVO which will make for an awesome power curve in a 346" engine and only 1 degree of overlap. Just overlap enough to "pop and chop" at idle, but drive very similarly to stock.

is the polluter v1 the biggest/baddest cam you have for ls1/ls6 cathedral head motors?

my plan is to have a 6.0 motor with ported stock heads, valve job, port match super victor or victor junior, 90 mm throttle body, set of injectors (not sure which ones)
and a NICE cam.. id like to get away with pump gas around town, but id use race gas at the track and i plan to spray 100-250 shot of nitrous. (race gas or e85 with nitrous for sure)

probably do 11:1 compression and freshen the bottom end but reuse stock crank, rods and pistons for now... going to get a high flow fuel pump and lines with holley dominator. most likely 3.73 gears and short headers and exhaust (only because they are cheaper and im going to do turbos later so full length are just out of the question) through a 4l80

but im intrested in one of your cam packages, springs and push rods i see come with the kit. and id like to also get a new timing chain and oil pump to go with the motor also.. probably use arp bolts wherever you suggest..

going with twins later down the line, and then few months after a 408 forged rotating assembly and a custom/turbo cam..

i liked the results that a just cam car made with your polluter.

what do you think bud??

ps- your ultra 275 cars inspirational with stock crank/block..

What would be good for stock 243 heads and stock bottom end ls2 nitrous cam from u guys?
U guys tested on ls2 with ur cam and nitrous only?

I have fast 102 with direct port nitrous will be spraying 150 to 175 shot. Just doing a cam only with spray. Forging motor doing the winter time for 250 to 300 shot 2 stage.

I read in another thread that Martin is no longer at Tick, so unless one of the other Tick staff members check this thread you might want to contact Tick directly.
