What did you decide on the "6" that I showed you?

That thing is going to pull like mad up top! Are you doing ARP rod bolts as well?

No.

Although, I'm now considering getting a cherry picker and pulling the motor and trans as one unit so I can easily work on both of them. I think that's probably the easiest and smartest thing to do. Only a few electrical connectors on the trans and the motor mounts hold it now... Problem is, I might get an itch and pull the trigger on a Level 6 FLT Trans and then build up the motor with a set of Wiseco Pistons, Compstar Rods, and new bearings and ARP Main Studs. I just don't trust anyone around here to do the machine work. And I don't really want to spend $3k+ for a forged 346 when I can spend $2k if I build it myself...

Got everything off the motor and the exhaust off today.

Crappy stock Y-Pipe...

Coolant crossover was in the front not an x. It's an LS6. It's an LS6 block.

The PCV port on the LS6 has a cast aluminum protrusion with a steel tube sticking out of it pointing towards the front passenger corner of the car. I don't see it in that valley cover.

You're right. It's not the 04+ LS6 valley cover. Just the 00+ system.

I'm running a catch can. I wonder if I should upgrade. Looks like I could kill a good bit of shitty hoses under the hood if I went with the 04... what's another $100.

IIRC, Gm Performance Parts or SD has the entire 04+ LS6 valey with gaskets, nuts, bolts, etc for under $80 shipped. Buy yourself a case of beer with the savings, it looks like you'll need it!

Not only deleting the POS that is the stock LS1 PCV system, but also eliminating the potential for ridiculously aggravating vacuum leaks in the process. 04+ has the PCV built in the cover, and coupled with a catch can will pretty much ensure an oil free FAST.

I would get it. Gets rid of some junk if anything and that alone is worth it. Do that plus the tc delete and your set. I did both. I paid less then 100 for the cover gasket and bolts shipped. Cant remmeber what it was. Its been like 3 years since I bought it. I then sold the old setup.

I ordered it from GMParts Direct. For the Cover+Gasket+grommet plug it was like 110 shipped. They rape you on shipping... but was still less than Summit or Scoggin Dickey.

Dam. Price may have gone up since I bought it. Should come with new bolts as well. Mine did.

Bet Scoggin would have price matched or beat that price. Shipping might have been cheaper as well.

Keep the bolts. Sell them off with the old setup. Package deal.

Damn, the price must have gone up recently.

Either way, $110 for piece of mind that gunked up oil won't be robbing HP is a low price to pay imo.
