Finally pulling the trigger on parts!
The thing to ask Geoff about, and I'm pretty sure I know where he's going (could be wrong though) is he usually likes to get everything SET with a stock MAF, then swap them over and tweak from there.
Actually, having typed that, I think I see what he meant. He wants to do the "initial" with a stock MAF. Damn. I just wasted typing for nothing...
Do you have an SLP lid and stock MAF you can throw on there? I've got a low mileage MAF I can send you to use, but I don't have a lid.
Also, I managed to get the radiator all hooked back up with new silicon hoses. And I attached the FTP 104 lid and TSP 100mm MAF housing to the 102 TB... the 4" silicon coupler TSP provided was too short for my setup. I think the BeCool radiator pushes the MAF/lid up and out of the way, so I bought a Fernco 4x4 sewer pipe from Home Depot. I had to trim it up on top. It bulges like **** too. Might see if I could find a 4x3.5...
Also, when we tried to install the transmission, we found we had to jack the car wayyy up. But I didn't have good jack stands. So I bought some but have been working on the rearend this week/weekend and hope to be able to jack it up via the rearend/k-member to get the car about 26" in the air. Will be tight to get the trans back in on the trans jack. But that's the last hold up outside of the idle issue.

Lid assembly:

Silicon radiator hoses (I deleted the PS pump - turns out I have a leak in my steering rack I noticed when I added the new fluid - so that'll be my next "fix."):

And got the NT05R 315/35-17 drag radials (compared to the 275/40-17 NT05 street tires for the front - and yes, my garage is a mess right now with all the old parts, towels, whatever all just in the way):
I also destroyed the hose coming out of the overflow tank... previous owner let the battery boil over and destroyed the electrical connections there - fixed all of that previously. But when I was trying to replace the rubber hose with the silicon, I managed to break the metal because it had been corroded by battery acid.
I took a metal barb I had with my BMR TB bypass kit (included two - yay!), what was left of the good rubber from the original hose, what was left of the metal stalk that went into the tank, and fashioned a workaround and connected the silicon hose to it. Also cleaned it all up of the battery acid.

The Best V8 Stories One Small Block at Time
Well, with 12+ hour work days the past two weeks, I haven't had a chance or the energy to mess with it. Until today. It just refuses to catch and idle now. I'm wondering why?
Here is a video showing what it's doing. It's obviously getting fuel and spark and nothing else has changed since I originally fired it up a few weeks ago. Any ideas?
Any suggestions? I don't have the trans hooked up... would that cause the issue?
I don't know if it's throwing any codes. I probably need to get an OBD II scanner to see. Or just break down and get EFI Live.

My break in tune did that too, 2-4 second idle.. Quick change to it and it fired and stayed on!
