ported ls6 vs tfs 215 vs prc 215

is there any clear winner? or advantage of one of these?

The TFS should be the best bet. Out of the box they are great heads. TEA or WCCH can also work a little more magic on them and normally take your entire combo into account. You cannot beat the advantages of a better valve angle.

I agree, the better valve angle makes a big difference. I recently purchase tfs 205s for my vette, they'll give me way more compression and still retain better than stock ptv with my large cam. They do fall a bit short by having smaller runners. But I'll fix that issue soon by having them ported. It's a lot of money but will hopefully be very worth it.

The potential for the trick flows is pretty wide. They dont go second hand alot though. But there are so many threads now in the private sale section. Either people got screwed on their tax returns or they want more money to build bigger projects? Hard to say.
If you are planning on 2nd hand parts then you do have a budget. For the price the trick flows are hard to beat. In an arbitrary test that is.

^ give this man a beer!
For the price you paid in consumbles and time to swap cams twice because the first one was just to get you by, you could have saved up and got something that fit your endgoal. You dont HAVE to have it right now in most cases. But WANT trumps need more often than not.
I would be vary wary of parts that may have changed hands too many times. Parts wear.

the TSP PRC heads can use stock GM rockers ,saving you some money .rebuild the stock rockers if you use them .look at the TSP PRC 225 cast head .you get a better deal with TSP if you buy the head/cam combo .

If you can get your hands on a set of 243s cheap enough you can get them ported and they'll work well. My buddy has a about $2100 in heads and cam from Ai in his car, and it works very well. The car runs great and is really impressive for a budget build.

The MAST heads are way to expensive and are just the old ETP heads. They aren't any better than TFS/AFR...
TFS As-Cast heads, hand ported by Tooley with PM guides and LS3 valves. Cheaper and better than anything listed in this thread.

Those MAST heads were like $1299 with beehive springs and heavy valves last I checked. Once you went to a double valve and hollow-stem... you're at like 3200.
The TFS as-cast heads would be like $2100. With the same essential valvetrain. And the TFS heads are about $2700 with the PM guides and LS3 valves. I would never advocate the ported TFS heads when the as-cast with hand porting will match it for much less.
