Default Starting my cam swap this weekend. Do I have everything?

Hey guys, starting my cam swap on Friday and just making sure I have everything, pretty sure I do.

Cam, valve springs, pushrods, ls7 lifters, comp rocker upgrade kit, tsp oil pump, double roller timing set, gasket kit

Anything I'm missing other than oil and antifreeze?

Do you have a good harmonic balancer puller? What about balancer install tool? Valve spring compressor?

+1

And a new harmonic balancer bolt? Don't believe you can reuse the old one.

If I was pulling the heads to put in lifters, I would use a better lifter than the LS7. That's a lot of work for a stock replacement lifter.

Not that I want to get into a lifter debate...

What cam are you installing?

Have tick street heat stage 2. 231 235.

Yeah should have gotten different lifters but cars getting a different motor down the road so wasn't a big deal just wanted to get the original ones out. And have a almost new top end.

I would do something with the heads since you are already going through all the same work to change your lifters.

^Yes. If the heads are coming off, it would be a good idea to have them ported and milled.

Well might leave heads on for now and wait til I get some 5.3 heads and can save for some arp studs, with that in mind what size dowl or rod do I need to hold the lifters up while the cam is out or are there some other tricks to keep them up?

I used 5/16 wooden dowels from lowes. I just cut them to the length i needed.
