Oh yeah! My custom speced PatG cam. Everything else I'm doing is really just a supporting mod for this one part! I dropped the heads off this afternoon to be decked. I'll have them back tomorrow or Wednesday.
The WARR seems to be recommended on here a lot lately. I've read bad reviews about the Holley Sniper, so I'd stay away from that one. I picked up a WARR 92mm myself for my Fast 90 intake.
Also, I would say spend the money on the NW, but people have had issues with those that the WARR fixed which is why I just spent a lot less on the WARR and will mess with it to get it right if need be.

You'll have to run the numbers to verify but if my memory serves me right .040 Cometics and a light milling like that should have you damn near 11:1. If you have adequate PTV clearance and if the shop doesn't charge an arm and a leg to mill, I may be inclined to mill em some more but honestly I wouldn't sweat it too much unless the DCR is lower than optimal for the cam you're running.
That looks like a good compression calculator, in that it figures in HG bore diameter. Summit's does not.
Anyway, it looks like you made your compression goal!
You must have done this before? I wish I would have attempted cleaning up some beat up looking ls6 heads as opposed to buying some already worked ones off this site and probably spending a little too much. I just wanted something I could bolt on a go for a while and later send off for porting/vj.
I did a set about 10 years ago for my truck. I have about $700 and 20 hours of labor in a $1,700 set of heads. I can't stand to pay someone else to do what I can do. Plus, there's a lot more satisfaction in having done it yourself.

I definitely get you on that. I am somewhat new to modding cars, but I am going to tackle the h/c/i + clutch install on my own eventually once I save up for everything. I just wouldn't have any clue on how to port cylinder heads on my own. I guess I need to read up on that.
