Thanks John,

We have one very good drag racer in our customer base. The car went 11.06 @ 122, 1.47 60 ft with the G5. I suspect that that car will be in the 10's with just the cam swap, since they have the other good sutff for drag racing now.
That will be the car that we will do first for the 1/4 mile.

Plus we are finishing up the "Drag" car, Fbody that will run in the shootouts. This car will be ready for spring time shootouts with our new and improved shoot out design ready to do battle. There are not enough hours in the day, or days in a week.

Thanks,

Lou Gigliotti LGM

This is what I am talking about.. Civility.. Lou Jr. your car gets the same gas mileage as my car. My idle is 950rpm and I have no surging as well.. My cam is also huge traditional split and we both have the same compression. I have stock valves though and my heads are almost Stage 1's. One day I will dyno her again.. Last year I spent over a grand on dynos. I know I am making more power secondary to barely beating some of my competitors on the street and now I am putting many cars between us and still pulling away.. Once again Congrats to LG for taking the time to offer a good product..

The MTI X1/ FAStech F1 could be mistaken for each other if you gound the #s off the back of the cams.

The TSP 224/ MTI C2 -Identical

AMS supposedly had/has a 226/226 .591/.591- GTP Pig cam comes to mind

And the T1+3? the Thunder 224/224 561/561

Look at the lobe profile of the T1 compared to the TR224 and you'll see that they are not even close to each other. The TR224 has a much more aggressive ramp rate and a lot more area under the curve. The TR224 as well as the 220, 227, and 230 lobes are owned by Thunder Racing and are totally custom. That is why we can publicly post the cam specs without fear of someone copying them, unlike some companies that pick a Comp XE or XE-R lobe out of a book and call it their own. Then yes anyone can copy your cam.

BTW: Great numbers on your car. If you can get that package to repeat it'll be an awesome setup.

The G5 is basically, a 224 XE-R intake lobe with a 230 XE exhaust lobe, bot the XE-R and XE lobes are lobes Comp Cams developed, at least TR developed their own cam from scratch...

While I understand your point, I think the T1 + 3 = TR224 is unfair, biased, misleading and without basis in fact.

I shouldn't even post again. And I am not trying to say anything against any other HC package out there. I am just trying to point out what is good about our package.

Some of you won't accept a good thing when you see it. That is not my problem.
Some of you insist on trying to down play our numbers; the highest hp and tq from a NA cam and head package LS1/6. Keep in mind that it is a Package, including heads! And our G5 lobe was designed 1 year before the one that someone said we copied. Hard to copy what's not out yet.

The graph is up there. Take the Hp or tq numbers from any point, and plot them against the graph of ANY package out there and you will see for yourself. Don't just go by peak hp numbers. Look at and plot the power every 500 rpms. I Have.

First,

Comp does not grind our new cam, for exactly the proprietary reason. We didn't want everyone copying it. Our specs... and our cam grinder.

Second,
Our suspension parts were made 100% in my shop before my fabricator went racing. He now has MY jigs in his race shop, and builds them for me only.

Third,
If this was easy, then why has no one come up with hp numbers this high before. We have always had the highest torque numbers, and you all said that doesn't matter. (except HP=Tq x Rpm/5250) No torque....no hp. And don't forget Area under the curve.
But now we have the highest hp numbers. And unless everyone quits, it will only last for a while. 18 months ago the duscussion was all B1,T1. Then came the G5, and MTIs C1,X1, then the Thunder, and Katech, and MMS, etc, (Not necessarily in that order). And each time, all along the way, there were doubts. There were non beleivers. Myself included. Each cam works well for different buyers. I just sold a G5 today to someone who was not interested in high numbers, just reliable daily driver, with some thrill to it. (430+rwhp/420+rwtq worth)
But I realized that I was just getting lazy. So we worked harder until we came up with what we did.

There are still NO cam/head packages that match the TORQUE that we produced with the G5.

So, why do I hear sour grapes?

These results should make all the "tuners" get going and try some more combinations. That is called Competition. And that breeds better performance for everyone.

The LS1/6 engine is such a great engine design, and it was so easy to make HP with. It turned some backyard mechanics into "tuners".
Just call Lunati or Comp and get a cam, slide it in, and get more hp. Then came LS1 edit, so you can "twist the distributor, and change the jets" with a laptop. Now everyone is a "tuner".

Like it or not, the bar has been raised. And we are working on a new G5X-3 cam right now. We will not get caught asleep at the wheel again.

God bless America.

Thanks,
Lou Gigliotti LG Motorsports

Attn Lou:

Lou, congrats on the numbers. Are there any other cars lined up for this package install? I'd like to get an average set of numbers...taking into account differences in setups of course. Repeatability is key. No shop can give you a guarantee on numbers, so consistency serves as a pseudo guarantee.

BTW, I've seen some great results from your shop running N/A. Is there any development work with FI in the works? I know your racing pretty much centers around N/A...thus the specialization in such, but I was just curious. Feel free to PM/e-mail if you'd rather not advertise to the masses.

Lou, nice numbers. When I had my motor built at CARTEK I didn't and still haven't given my cam specs due to my set up. I understand the money and time that goes into developing a good set-up. Congrats on the dyno numbers, can't wait to here how it does at the track.

When I come back to D/FW on vacation I will probably pay the shop a visit Most of the guys on this site are running off the shelf heads, and pick a cam for it. Some buy the latest and greatest monstor cam, run it with heads they already have. Then, when they pull 440/405 they want to believe that is the limit. When you have a big cam specially grinded for a specific set of heads, well, your #'s are believable to me.

Lou,

Curious, how does that car idle compared to a showroom factory stock 1998 WS6?

Can you tell the difference between the 2 if they sat next to each other?
