Well next to the WS6, you could tell the difference because our car has a BowTie on it <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />
(Just kidding)
But seriously, it idles very nice, with just enough rumble to it. We are doing a C5 and another Fbody as we speak, and we will get to
Tune on it with LS1 edit to get a better feel for the idle quality. At first impression, the car is very docile.
Thanks,
Lou Gigliotti LGMotorsports.com

I'm with Fenris Ulf, I've never seen so much bandwagon-jumping in my life. Even within this one thread, it's absolutely ridiculous. Christ. If you believe something, believe it, stand by it, and preach it. Good job to Fenris, Lou, and everyone else doing so. Personally, I'm not a moron, and I need to see more than just one dyno result before I make a decision. Lou, you could have had 2 great drag racers in your customer base, but your son kinda dropped the ball on that one. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" /> Just kidding, Louis.

Yeah. If someone has an opinion other than whatever the general consensus happens to be at the time, they all wait until one person has the guts to post his or her opinion, then the rest of them all grab onto his or her tail. You need to re-read my post and find where I said or implied that it couldn't be done because it hasn't been done before. I said it will take more than one dyno result to get this guy to jump on any particular bandwagon.
Bandwagon jumping? Yes, bandwagon jumping.

Nice combo Lou. How much HP do you think it would lose through cats?

Nevermind. I'm sorry that, for whatever reason, you can't understand what I'm saying. Let's focus on what we can both understand and agree on: we'd like to see more results. I'll be waiting patiently.

Re: G5X-2 cam & head Dyno Numbers
How is this so unbelieveable <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" /> ? My setup (S2 heads...on 5.3L castings) with a decent size cam put down 444 RWHP thru a 9" ford with bigass 35 spline axles, huge 4.71 gears and a 3.5" steel driveshaft. Hell I could redyno with a 10-bolt and probably hit near 460 RWHP <img border="0" alt="[worship]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_hail.gif" />
Sure he has less compression than I do (10.8 vs 11.8) but he has the advantage of having LS6 heads <img border="0" alt="[evil]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_devil.gif" />

Re: G5X-2 cam & head Dyno Numbers
kylekay- I don't know the specs of the G5X-2, but I'd be surprised to see any cam of more than ~218 @ .050 on the intake side ground on anything tighter than a 116 LDA pass emissions testing.
However, since all LS1 cars are '96-newer (and therefore OBDII compliant), there should be nothing more than a code scan of the ECM (if I understand Texas emissions testing correctly). They won't do the sniffer unless something pretty wacky shows up during the code scan (again, if I understand the process correctly).

From what I have seen, the LS6 intake ports really don't start pulling away from LS1 castings until past .500 lift and I would think that a solid roller would be needed to really take advantage of the high-lift flow.

Re: G5X-2 cam & head Dyno Numbers
Some of you guys really crack me up.
It does appear the bar has been raised. Why is that so hard to believe?
People will jump on abandwagon in a heartbeat when its negative stuff, but will rip it to shred when it's something never done before.
As in all breakthroughs and advances, the consumer is the winner ...

Its hard to believe that the bar has been raised with results from only one car, that is what I am saying.

Re: G5X-2 cam & head Dyno Numbers
I didn't even read all the posts because theres too many of them... But I did want to make a comment.
I think this is Bull S..T too. You don't want to give up the cam specs, just pull your own chain on how great it is. I think it's kind of crappy for whatever reason. If I knew of something that would benefit the group i would share the info. Performance parts aren't cheap, and to make the wrong choice, for some of us can be devistating. Get a patent on the dam thing and enjoy it..............
