Thanks for great prices and options. I think alot of cam only cars with good valve springs should take you up on the bare + valves deal. Is a milled 243 gonna produce the same results as an equal 5.3 casting?

We can mill the 243 casting to yield the same compression as our 5.3 heads. As far as flow, the 243 castings will flow better than our stage II 5.3 heads.

So would they flow better on a 4.030 bore than the 3.905? I've got a stock motor now but building a 408. If I stuck these on my stock shortblock now would they be sufficient for my 408?

The flow would be greater on a 4.030" bore. You could use these on a 408. However, most customers run a 2.08"/1.60" valve on the 408 (which is also the valve size we suggest). If you wanted to get these or our LS6 style heads, we could increase the valve sizes to 2.08"/1.60" at a later date for a minimal charge. PM or give us a call if you have anymore questions.

Im running the Patriot stage III LS6 heads, on my 408 with 2.08/1.60 valves. With a stock ported TB & an LS6 intake in an A4 with a 3500 stall, car put down 440hp N/A (locked) & 620hp (unlocked verter) on a TNT 200 shot. I love my Patriot heads, havent had a chance to take it to the track yet (damn rain) but I dont think I will be disapointed.... TTT for a great deal & guy to deal with.

That doesn't sound like a great endorsement considering you have a 408, unless the cam is really, really small.

The cam is fairly small, its a 244/248 .613/.615 113lsa. The LS6 intake is killing it. But honestly what do you expect? 500 hp in an A4 with a 3500 stall, stock ported TB, LS6 intake, 10.7-1 CR? I dont think so. The 6spd guys are making just a lil over 500 so you do the math!

Just out of curiousity...

What are the highest numbers made by anyone with the Patriot Stage III LS6 heads on a 408ci motor with the Fast 90/90 setup and a good sized camshaft??

LS6 "style" are 6.0 heads with welded chambers (64cc/59cc)
243 casting are new GM LS2 castings (05+)

The difference is that welded 6.0 59 cc still keep more PTV clearance to allow bigger cams than if you milled the 243 to achieve 59cc.
I doubt seriously there is a major power difference all components and chamber size being the same, but milled 243's might flow a little less.

In any case, this is a really good deal with Ferrea/dual spring setup.

when you say a bigger ptv clearence on a 6.0l head what types of lifts could we use that we couldent use on the 243 head also how does this effect compression ..

for example lets say was going to buy a set of 5.3l heads from tsp and use them with a ms3 cam but have to fly cut IF i used your 6.0L heads and had youguys set them up to have the same valve sizes and combustion chamber size would i have to fly cut also would this mean i have a different compression.. and if this is so would i gain more by milling your heads further and still flycutting????

***bare with me im still learning so the Above post might not be 100% logical***

PTV has little to do with lifts and has to do with duration amount used, valve events and size of valves.

for example lets say was going to buy a set of 5.3l heads from tsp and use them with a ms3 cam but have to fly cut IF i used your 6.0L heads and had youguys set them up to have the same valve sizes and combustion chamber size would i have to fly cut also would this mean i have a different compression.. and if this is so would i gain more by milling your heads further and still flycutting????

The MS3 will fit PP 243 with stock valves and no mill.
It might even fit PP 59 cc with 2.02/ 1.57 valves ( not sure though)
But with bigger valves, the way to do this is stick the cam in and measure PTV.
No sane sponsor here will give you a definite answer, it will be it "should" but "better measure", which is sound advice when you're playing with cams that size.
