Default Compression?

Stock 2000 Ls1 motor with 62cc heads and stock gaskets, whats the final compression ratio? 10.5, 10.7?

Thanks
Jason

Aproximately 10.9 depending on your out of hole piston position.

The LSx stock pistons come OUT of the hole not IN so a negative value has to be logged for piston position.

The out of hole feild is counter inuitive, I left it set at default (.008) and it shows 10.6 drop that to .0001 and the compression comes up to 10.8:1. Looks like that's as close as you can get to Zero and it won't allow you to show the piston coming out of the hole.

So I believe Predator's numbers.

Predator, could we just calculate the volume of the portion of piston out of the hole and add it to the feild for piston dome?

Seems like that would be most accurate...

radius: 4.95, diameter: 9.9cm (3.898")
perimeter 31.102
base: 76.977
altitude: 0.007
lateral area:0.218, surface: 154.171
volume: 0.539

I get; 10.8 with a gasket thickness of .054"

and 10.9 with a gasket thickness of .052"

Anyone want to check my math?

http://www.csgnetwork.com/compcalc.html

it'll let you use "-" for out of the hole piston measurment.
