I just installed one a couple of weeks ago. I love it. The sound is awesome (no rasp, great snarl) and there is no doubt I experienced gains. Unfortunately I don't have any dyno #s or track comparisons for you.
I just noticed a big sotp gain through the entire rev range, but the biggest being after 4500 rpm. It doesn't seem to choke out before the rev limiter like it used to.
Hit the exhaust with a some rubbing compound and a foam wheel and it looks pretty sharp (I didn't do this, but another guy did and it looks awesome).
The only down side I see is that the entire rear section is welded and if the pipes aren't even it can be difficult making them even. They also don't have the looks of a Corsa, but for me I didn't care.
I am very suprised by the gains I got. I am curious to see what happens with the SII heads/cam, ls6 intake, and lt header mods coming this spring!!

Power gains have been argued quite abit about the GMMG. For the most part it will give you gains over a stock exhaust. Better then some after market, worst for some others. It would depend on what mods you already have and plan in the future.
I haven't looked that close at the one's I've seen. But the sound is GREAT. I plan on adding one to my SS around Feb or March. My biggest problem with it is I can't find anyone that has put it on with a Center Mount Exhaust so I don't know what it will sound like. But I will be finding out.
Hope this answers a few of your questions. You can also here what they sound like at their web site. http://www.gmmginc.net

I can vouch for performance gains with the GMMG. I went from a 13.298 @ 106.53 100% stock to what's in my sig with only an MTI lid and the GMMG. The car feels completely different from when it had no mods. The sound is incredible and I wouldn't trade it for any other catback. If anyone's interested, there is a video of my Formula with the GMMG on my homepage. The link is in my sig...

Dang man, this thread is OLD!!!! Almost a whole year old!! Why didn't you just start a new one instead of ressurecting this one.
Anyway, GMMG is quiet as stock when cruising at one speed, give it some gas though and it will come alive. You will get rasp though when you take the cats off.
Man, I remember when me and Poltergiest ran a GP for the GMMG about this time last year, probably a little after this thread came out

Here is what it sounds like from inside the car:
http://wsbf.clemson.edu/robert/run_2.mpg
Car is a 2000 WS6 Formula and has only a lid and the GMMG catback.

I've heard one in person and rode in the car it was installed on.
Personally, I don't like the sound of the GMMG. The car I rode in was a good bit louder than stock at idle and loud on the highway at speed.
I'd take a Corsa or Borla anytime over a GMMG.
Of course it's all in the ear of the beholder and I like the quite SLP dual/dual the best of all.

But honestly, the GMMG is not that loud IMHO. It is a little louder than stock at idle(not by much though), noticeably louder just cruising around, and a lot louder at WOT(but every aftermarket cat-back is very loud at full throttle).

Good grief, now I torn between the GMMG or the Dr. Gas x-pipe set-up. Heard both sound clips and these are the sounds that I was looking or listening for.
My mind is just going bonkers right now, thanks alot. Now I have to talk to my shrink.

That is hilarious, $700 for THAT?? The quality and performance can't be any better than the loudmouth from the looks of it, and it is not a true dual setup like they claim. I think I will stick with my X-pipe setup

well since my old post was brought back up guess i'll reply on it... I've gotten the GMMG since then and I love it... I now have Hooker LT's and offroad pipe as well... today I just took off the optional tips that you can buy for it and it sounds even better it's wierd it's quieter at idle now but still has a very deep tone and just sounds deeper all the way through the rpm range... i love the way it sounds just don't like the way it looks without tips i might have to make some sort of down pipe for it or something... anyways If I had to do it again I would buy the exhaust but probably pass on the tips and get my own

Hmmm I thought with the optional tips the GMMG was about $850 retail. Sounds like the price has dropped a little.
As for best sound Borla and Corsa are excellent but a cut out sounds good too. Guess I need to add a cut out to my SLP dual/dual for the two times a year I want to make some noise.

Gents,
I haven't dynoed my Intimidator yet, but it pulls much stronger then my other Camaros. Heres what I run:
99 Z28: Borla, lid, free mods, FTRA, M6, 3:42
gears.
00 SS : SLP cat-back, lid, free mods, ported
MAF, M6, 3:42 gears.
01 SS : Dale Earnhardt Intimidator, GMMG cat-
back, M6, 3:73 gears.
Everyone who hears or drives my cars votes for the GMMG exhaust hands down!
Enjoy your cars.

NC GUY, congrats on having 3 nice cars!
However, I think the harder pulling from the Intimidator cars is probably more a culprit of the 3:73's, than the exhaust....
The GMMG is a nice catback with a unique sound. It flows just the same as any good flowing catback, and if you can get in on a GP it's well worth it...
