This is the TQ wrench I use for the Crank bolt w redloc.

This is the TQ wrench I use for the Rockers. And use a quality 5/16 socket! You will strip the rocker bolts if you use a cheapo!

And for your spring tool you should have just called Joe V. His customer service is excellent and he invented the tool.

I mean you dont have to use the snap on ones I have. Any TQ wrench will work.

also ima try installing the empty pump body to the pick up tube like u suggested....seems like it would make it alil easier and makes scence...also do i bolt the pump all they way to the block..and than try to get the pick up tube on? or the other way around?
When I install a stock bolt I just use the TQ wrench. When I use the ARP I just redloc it and hammer down on it with the BF impact. I dont know about the 1/2 for the crank. I will ask one of the guys at the shop if they would lend there's out but we pay so much $ for our tools I highly doubt it.

I bought a Craftsman 3/8" drive Tq. wrench from Sears for about $40. It's adjustable in .5 ft/lb increments from 10-75 ft/lbs. I've used it on 2 cam swaps now and have had no problems. For the crank bolt you just have to torque it to spec, which is about 35 ft/lbs I believe. Then after that use a 1/2" drive ratchet or breaker bar with a piece of pipe slipped over the handle to finish tightening. I think the specs call for about 120* of rotation past the initial spec of 35 ft/lbs.

Disclaimer: All tq. specs are off the top of my head so check the cam swap directions on ls1howto.com for the exact specs.
