I also would like to voice my opinion on latest XER lobes and other fast action profiles that have come on the scene. This approach to making power is proven to capture more cylinder pressure with larger off seat duration, in regards to total seat duration. But valve train shock from this approach can hurt hi rpm power and is counter productive to reliabilty at higher rpms.
Some pretty smart engine builders have instilled the fact in me that hi rpm power wants as smooth and quiet valvetrain as possible for min. harmonics, this makes hp and keeps parts together.Nice idle and low speed torque is nice but be careful what you trade it for.

The TR 220 cams are very good. They have fast ramps but lift that is a little easier on the valve train than an XE-R ramp. I think this about as small as anyone should go.
A 216/216 112 110 would make for a very torquey cam for an M6 with stock gears. Good for slicing through traffic. A 214/216 115 112 I/C can be put in an A4 w/o programming and works well with a 3000 stall.

Terry sold me a trick Comp. Cams custom Grind that is rated at .578" 220*at .050" on a 112* lsa with 2 degrees of advance. I really did some research and measuring on this cam and i like its real specs even better! This cam was ground with Magnum SBC lobes and they are measured with 1.5 rocker ratio, true specs are .585"lift, 224* at .050" with 276* at .006" lift, and 142* at .200". See this would be a really mild cam if not for 1.7 LS1 rocker ratio, that really steps it up in lift and valve accelleration. All my combo needs for this to fly is more gear and advancing this cam. Its big enough to advance 4* w/out losing any top end charge. Anyone interested in this cam i have #'s to build one.
