So i'm lookin' for a good set of heads to go w/ either my Comp 228 or 228/230. I was going to ask everyone's opinion on this.
Also, b/t the 228 and the 228/230 which would go better with the heads i have listed.

I like my Patriot stage 2's after they were fixed...
****Side note- It was a good thing that I had the heads checked before install because the spring height was off across the board on both heads, combustion chambers were really 61cc when I ordered 59cc, and the port job really needed to be hand finished on my set. So after an extra 200.00 dollars at the Machine shop and another 4 hours labor on my side they were all good and flowed some really good numbers for a budget head****
For the performance I did not mind spending the extra time or money, you should always check your parts no matter who the manufacturer is.

Good lord Jason, could you post a more slanted comparison? Giant cams vs 224's? Aftermarket castings? You must be on the advertising side.
The last link you posted, the guy made 410 with your heads and a 230/236 cam, and the last link for Patriot with the X1 made 407. Very close, and a very similar cam.
I'm sure you're observant enough to realize that I run Patriot (or at least I HOPE you're observant enough) but I'm not defending them.. I'm defending the comparison.
Both of your heads are good budget heads, and that's it. Neither of them would be considered "great" heads by any reputable head porter. But.. you get what you pay for. Do NOT expect these to compete with high end heads, because they won't.

Do NOT expect these to compete with high end heads, because they won't.
You are defining "high end heads" as aftermarket cast i assume? something like AFRs?
There was some dude talking trash in another thread about how his AFR head car would smoke a non-AFR, stock-cast ported head car..... The guys made less than 10 RWHP more than me on the dyno with a similar cam AND he had a FAST 90/90 setup and I'm still on an LS6 intake....
Competition between heads is a load of crap unless you're matching EVERYTHING properly.... valve size, CR, cam duration/lift, etc. Taking one cam and and putting it in every set of port LS heads on the planet IS NOT an accurate way of assessing how well a particular head performs. Every setup needs to be matched seperately. Slapping the biggest head on a car does NOT = win

I'm gonna have to go ahead an MAJORLY and COMPLETELY disagree with you guys on that.

Talking to a few top end head porters, they've already told me to sell my heads and start out new because they're more than likely already ruined by the initial CNC job.
You can disagree until you're blue in the face, but there is no way Tsp's heads are going to stack up vs a TFS head, or a T4P Dart head.

Were you both sticks? autos? Were you a stick and he an auto? Are you strictly talking about peak HP? Your arguement is full of holes and a lack of information. You don't even have any idea what condition his bottom end was in.

Both M6... he had maybe 20K more miles than me, big whoop.
I'm not saying that big heads don't put down good power. That's not what I'm saying. What I AM saying is that your going to make better power on a properly matched up setup, as compared to just picking a random cam and slapping some aftermarket cast heads on it.
There are no holes in the argument, you can see it look at people's sig and mods all over this board. Sure you can look into all kinds of different factors and weed out a few horsepower here and there... but if a big name head is only making a little more horsepower then a ported stock casting, is it really worth saying, "aftermarket cast heads are better, always, period." I say nope. You said, "Do NOT expect these to compete with high end heads, because they won't." I think given the circumstances, they can compete just fine.

Guys we just revised the Precision Race Components LS6 heads!! Here's a copy of the info:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As most of you guys know we've been working really hard recently to rework all of our cylinder heads to improve power, performance, and value! The LS6 head is the newest cylinder head to go through these revisions. All future LS6 heads will ship with all the new features at NO EXTRA COST!!!
We just finished up the newest revision of the PRC LS6 cylinder head! The new cylinder head features a new smaller intake runner (225cc), new bigger cfm exhaust port, & aftermarket rocker arm clearances!!
The new intake port was reshaped to provide the same great airflow you've come to expect from PRC with a smaller runner for increased velocity & throttle response!
Here's a few pics of the new ls6 intake port. The port in this pic goes 310cfm @ .650 lift!!
The Exhaust Port was also completely revised from top to bottom! The all new exhaust port flows as much as 10cfm more air than the previous port with the same valve size!
NOTICE IN THIS PIC THE ALL NEW AFTERMARKET ROCKER CLEARANCES & CUSTOM PRC ENGRAVING!!
Improved airflow, improved features, smaller runners all available at the current special price of $949.99 with stock springs!!!!
