Default New RHS LS Race Block - Getting Ready To Build

Just received a new RHS LS race block and boy is this thing pretty!!! Comp has really outdone themselves with this one. Started gathering up the normal parts: gaskets, sensors, oil pan, windage tray etc. Everything will be new in the build so we can keep the factory engine as complete as possible so it can be sold damn near turn key.

We will be building the motor for FI to drop in to this 2007 Z06. If anyone is interested in a complete from intake to oilpan LS7 please PM me. We will be removing the factory engine and it will be available for purchase. The engine has a QM600 camshaft, patriot dual springs, ported intake and its very clean She lays down 568RWHP on a DynoJet and revs to 7400.

Luckily next month we have the PRI show here in Orlando Florida so I will be scouting around for a set of heads, rotating assembly as well as which route we will be taking for FI (Supercharge/Turbocharge).

As soon as the build gets underway I will be sure to start a thread with plenty of pics for all to see.

Call Shawn @ Virginia Speed, he is one of the biggest Mast/PI dealers around. He can get you hooked up with the right heads for your application.

We are going to leave it at 427 seeing as it will be FI. As far as HP goals we are shooting for around the 1100-1200 range. The car will see 80% street and 20% track. Depending on the final results she may be a good candidate for the standing mile.

Thanks for the comments on the car itself. Much appreciated!

I have heard good things about Virginia Speed as well as Shawn. Mast Motorsports will be at the PRI show here in Orlando next month, I'm hoping to see their products first hand. I believe they have a new 305 head that has just been released which supports a 2.25 intake valve.

I saw a couple RHS blocks at VA Speed a month or so ago. Beautiful pieces.

Good luck with the build.

Perfect, so who should I look for next month in booth 4691. Ive got plenty of questions for you. LOL

Was on the phone a few weeks ago with LME and they were pushing me towards the Dragonslayer Crank over the Magnum. Will you have both on display? Would like to see the major differences between the two first hand.

We have used Lunati in some our most recent builds so I would like to see what others have to offer.

Honestly, if your in the market for a block to build from the ground up the RHS is the way to go. I have had both come through the shop now and given the opportunity I would always take the RHS for multiple reasons.

Now don't get me wrong, the LSX block is a great player in the LS world but for the Vettes the weight savings is a must when it comes weight distribution. I believe the RHS weighs in at just over 100lbs.

Shawn did a great Darton sleeved LS2 block for my 427. It's more than enough for my little street build.

He also had MAST/PI heads stacked up there.
