I checked it with the 8.800" checker right off the bat, and it's still a bit too long.
Yeah 8.8 is going to be way long. I just finished checking mine yesterday and I came in around 8.065 intake and 8.053 exhaust. Every cylinder was within .005" on the intake side and .003" on the exhaust side. Pretty good machining and tolerances on the setup.

Hey man thanks for the suggestions. I spoke with Al today @Manton, what a helpful guy. As you mentioned, he ask everything about my combo. I feel good that I will be getting the right pushrods. I will definitely be ordering through him. Not only that, he told me how to go about and obtain the correct pushrod length as well. I salute to him

Yeah, I'll know for sure in a few days. I'm guessing in the 8.500"-8.600" range.

Jimbo, I can only go as fast as my pockets let me. And they're not that deep. Be patient my brother, it will happen soon!

Al is suggesting to go with their Series 5 3/8" .145" wall pushrods.

Damn! Series 5, 3/8" .145 wall?! What spring pressures are you expecting and rpm limit again?

Al suggested the same thing for me, series 5 3/8 x .120 because we thought my pushrod would be a lot shorter than it is. But since it'll be in the 8.5-8.6 range, I imagine I'll be going with the .145 series 5 for piece of mind.

Checked for pushrod length on a few cylinders today. It looks like I will be needing a 8.725". With that said, I will be ordering Manton Series 5 3/8" .145" wall shortly with Al@Manton. This build is definitely in progress, slowly but surely. Thanks guys for all inputs and suggestions.

Hi Martin, thanks for looking in. Ok, so what would you have suggested?
I want to make sure that this valvetrain is optimized and run with little or no deflection. Series 5 is what Manton highly suggested

I don't see anything wrong with running the Manton stage 5 push rods. I have always been told to run the stiffest push rod available. If they had one in the 11/32" size, I would be running them.

I'm interested to hear this as well as I've seen Martin suggest against Manton series 5 a few times, or at leat suguest the seres 5 isnt needed. And since that what I'm planning on going with, as well as what Manton suggested since I'm wanting the absolute best pushrod I can afford.

Well the Manton Series 5 pushrods maybe overkill, but I think in the long run, it's for the better. Besides, I already placed the order yesterday,so that's out of the way.

Mine is going to be a while since I'm practically starting from scratch. From an LT1 to an LS. I still need a new harness and ecu.
I had a lil technical issue, thought it was major! Got it running & trailered it to a shop to have it tuned. 1st pull they called me said something let loose, maybe I nicked a valve, #3 cylinder. This was Monday, so I've been sick all week because of the news. Made it down Thursday to get the car I didn't even wanna start it. They said "oh you can start it up & drive it on the trailer" Ok, so I did. Took the l. Side valve cover off this morning

Very relieved to see this! I must've forgot to torque that one! Torqued it down, checked the others, valve lash is about perfect using the 7.425 long comp 5/16 pushrods. Took it for a spin, runs really strong & idles not much different than my TSP 228 that was in my 5.7. Amazing for a 242/256 duration cam! I was just rolling slow in 2nd gear, mashed it & blows the back tires off! They got some tuning done before the rocker came off cuz it idles great & runs good! Gotta get it back to the dyno so they can finish tuning it but its got some nice power!
