Key thing is parts cost and availability... We are talking factory. Looking at the port itself, I can't see why 400 cfm isn't seen, DI or no DI. That's what I'm wanting to get to the bottom of. Runners on Mile High Status with a nice valve arrangement being 11 degrees and Canted. Angle mill it to 10 ... lol cant comes standard.
That ole boy Lil John and Patron had been asking for a Canted valve ls7 head. GM did 1 better offered it as a factory piece and price.

Thought the Canted valve head thread had something new. Me and Darin have been texting about my idea, but D said Mast has new LT heads coming out, I saw a post with Mast making Honda 4v heads àlso.
Need or want to find out how much more can the intake port be improved on. WET FLOW not DRY Flow as with DI.

My thought is to:
I'll fill the runner and give that .... A straight shot to the back of the valve. Throw in the valve placement set up. Runners starts off tall as .. ideas when bored at work.
Cam and dowel holes... for a swap LMAO but the port needs to be worth the thought.

Get this done before epoxy & DI weld. Prefabricated thoughts....and a idea. Rowdy started the same way.

Again bad news bears. Yet was told the story of Y the LT doesn't make for a great race head, but a Great EPA consumer head and engine combination. Nothing seems to help with flow (low lift numbers are spectacular after .600 things go flat line), as a Wet flow head is based around cfm and velocity. LT head design is based off of Volume for the combustion cycle with DI. Makes better TQ lower than a ls3 yet not as great for a na application without the DI as it's based for EPA and consumer standards. Even with the 7.7 cm runner height, 11 degree Canted valve arrangement. Ls7 deck to runner bottom is 4.0 cm.

Thanks for sharing the info from Richard, Smoke. My question would be....because I have no knowledge of what’s out there...what intake would you put on the LT heads, if they could be modded to get you where you want with them?

Just got off. The idea was correct. But. Wet flow vs Dry flow. Thing is there isn't a 1000+ hp LT. Then ask and ponder Y. Head layout for the intake is setup great. The exhaust exit port is all messed up. Edelbrock corrected this, CID is the same exhaust exit port as that of the factory. CID is a helluva casting. The intake port is what got me, looks like a next generation C5R port with updates. Looks can be deceiving. Again wet flow VS dry flow.

Question of the day? Looking at the newer gen 5 LT1/4 head, without DI with the head having a better valve layout and super raised runners Why isn't more cfm seen or is it that it's not capable. Me and a friend have talked about this as the newer head looks to be a better developed head. Exhaust is another story.
The architecture of the LT1 is very different from the LS heads of the past. They only have a 2.125 intake because it's all dry flow are. No fuel in suspension so that's 15% dynamic flow improvement. It's like having a 365cfm ls3 head but if it was dry flow it would be like a 420cfm head. I hope that makes sense. Hard to explain in a txt.
The valve spacing is not good and the seat ring diameter will only allow for a 2.150 valve without I installing seat rings. The new Mast LT4 that we are about ready to unleash will solve these problems
I am not impressed with them at all. Plus, the BIG thing that makes them suck worse than any other LS head is the exhaust port. It's horrible times 2.

How would a LT head make for a wet flow na head. Is the question it boils down to. Keep looking at, from the factory raised runner. Darn near twice the height of the ls7 with the valve angles with slight cant.
It can be made to run as good but doubt very seriously it's any better than an LS7. When I saw the intake port location I though exactly what you did. Then I got a better look.

Build sheet and cost.... Just need to finish up. Wasn't needed for the West coast swing so gotta slow up on spending. All parts were purchased before the short block build besides what's listed.

Hello people, have You heard of Wallace Racing ? They have a website that has EVERY calculator You can possibly ever think of and lots of ones You have'nt thought of. Very helpful for figuring out what effect different parts will have concerning engine, suspension, tire and wheel sizes..........etc Good luck

Chevelle, sorry haven't seen or found anything engine related to keep my interest. Haven't been on much...but I'm well over $15k. That I do not know. I no the owner of the company and had done the reasturant chain and stone work for over 15 yrs. Both of his homes also. Was nice enough to Give me a job when no else would and having more felonies than one can count fingers 7 total amoung, other smaller charges. Don't worry Chevelle....stop! When $ starts coming back continue as normal.

Not doing bad to sell anything just ....you don't spend when no $ is coming in. Ole saying: don't keep going in the cookie jar expecting to get cookies if you don't replace the ones ate. Got the $ to continue and finish yet a engine takes $ not gives $. If you remember Chevelle nothing's in my name .. lol. Bank, home, car or trucks. Known this young lady for over 20 yrs....and built or remodeled 2 of her homes, ex-husband office and a few friends homes. Remember when her daughter was born now in college. Offered dinner when I came back in from my east coast trip.
