Sounds like all race car shyt to me...i mean great info, but who da phuk shiftn 9k on the streets? The $ involved alone is one thing. The longevity n reliability is another. Even at 800rwhp only, and 9k rpm shifts, id say on a good day you ll be in jail in time for hungry man turkey pot pie dinners...

Comparing port entry & exit. Gives u a idea of how the runner is tapered ......vs others. Runner length determines RPM points. Reason I left your thread Darth...you got some ....people out here. You know if I've asked I will share it with u. This is for your keeping, I'm trying to get to the bottom of things.

It was a 9k intake... keyword was. There's a Mathematical formula these guys use, btw.

Jake,
Its good that you will be happy/content with 650 RWHP with your build.
I think it will make 670-680 RWHP @ 7200 RPM, even with a "compromised" intake...... LOL
I think you really nailed your cam specs. Looking forward to your results.
Appreciate all the data and knowledge/experience that you share.
Dan

It would be awesome if every thread was not a peter measuring contest or full of what ifs. Point being this car has a set plan thats not going to be deviated from the parts list posted. So the discussion of x, y , z intakes and cams are useless imo If he was searching for the next best thing and ready to spend money asking for help i would say then these posts are relevant. Just an opinion.....

Makes sense Laser but alot of stuff is unknown and it's just a formula..you can go back thru a part to C why it's doing what it does. And know.... Darth when u get a chance what R u seeing in the entry.... I intend to learn intakes on all that's available if possible. I'd be a dumb *** to have learned heads and not learn what sits on top

IDK. Car is in at home in SC, and I'm in AZ... I can't measure until Monday, and I'm tearing the car down on Monday.

Where I'd like to be end of day Monday is heads off, new cam and lifters installed, and cam degreed. Then on Tuesday, I can take my time on reassembly and make sure I get good gasket sealing on the front cover, water pump, etc. Also on Tuesday, I'll hopefully be setting my rocker wipe pattern. If all goes well, I'll get the measurements I'll need to order pushrods by end of day tuesday. I'm going to remeasure the deck height to recalculate the head gasket. I'm thinking .038 for quench instead for the normal .035 to account for RPM. I'm thinking the pistons were right at zero, but I'll remeasure all that before I order gaskets. I'll reuse my current head gaskets to measure for pushrods, since I can adjust for the last few thousandths.

Typically if I have parts, I can blitz through a build at a pretty decent clip. once I get the gaskets, I'll finish assembly up to the point of installing the pushrods and rockers. Then that last day should be around three hours to set lash, install the covers, coils, and plug wires. If all goes well, the car is running by Christmas, and if it goes really well, I can get the street tuning well-enough dialed in to see what kind of numbers I might be looking at. Or i'll find out I'm out of fuel pump again...

I had the 255 in my car that worked well for my LS2 build. I went ahead and went with a 450 for the 434 while the car was down. I didn’t want to run into the very same thing you just mentioned could happen.

another option that I always recommend on larger builds is the lonnies doubles. idk just makes more sense to me than running a 450 while just cruising. I'm sure that I will need to Hobbs switch it to come on at 6500. the thing I like about it is I cantf get stranded due to a bad pump.

I may end up that direction. For now I'm hoping to just make it through dyno without needing upgraded pump.

If I have to go back into it I will use twin 340's. I have a zex switch for my meth kit to come on at 50% throttle already. 450 is dead quiet though and works great . No need in changing it now

How loud is it? And by loud, can you hear it over a dual 3" exhaust bolted to a high compression engine?

Thanks! That's about where I am on my injectors. 80% range on 60's.

I was hoping not to need to cut up the bucket, but I guess it's coming.
