Seems like as soon as a potential nerd hears the car they hang back and wont have a crack lol.. Ill do an acceleration video tonight...

Was thinking about your engine earlier Darth and how lucky i must have been. Twice when installing pushrods ive missed the lifter cup, thought all was good and started it. No noises ,picked up the miss straight away and shut down. Found the pushrod wasnt seated , installed properly and no probs.. That was on old engine , not the new one.

I checked cold lash today , all were .008.... So everything must grow .010 because when i last set lash i did it hot..

Damn... my ***** are empty.

That is crazy top end pull and the engine sounds so good.
Nice and clean sounding with that solid roller.
Wants to rev its *** off.
Good job.
Have you got the dyno sheets yet??

The new tyres have nowhere near as much grip as the sport cups. Only revving it to 7000rpm, have to work on that and get to 8000rpm. Changing by ear so need get used to 8000rpm.
Flex fuel kit will go in next week so dyno sometime after that. 700rwhp no problem. When i talked to tuner to get road worthy contact he said it needed 6rwhp to get 700rwhp... i thought it was 20rwhp+ away from the 700..... Will find out in a week or so

You have all the great hardware to spin to 8000rpm anyway.
You will get there. You should see more gains.
Are you saying you are at 517rwkw at the moment>

Tuner said i was 6rwhp short of 700... Thats all i know. The tuner operates the dyno at summernats and he was mighty impressed. Said i would have taken home the trophy for highest HP N/A at summernats just gone. and by 60+rwkw. Thats very impressive when you think about it
Dyno numbers are not my thing really and when its a new engine and new tuner its the last thing on my mind.
Ive read E85 dyno comparisons with ls7's from 6rwhp to a highest of 28rwhp. Will be interesting to see what gains i get. Even if i gain zero E85 will be a lot better for the engine when im trackin it

I definitely have to get my ear tuned to 8000rpm. Leaving a lot on the table otherwise. Its a different engine than im used to, im only just really working it out. Loves to rev so even when cruising its 2500rpm and up and everythings sweet

How do you find the low end torque compared to before?
Does it pull really hard in the mid range too?
What about throttle tip in?

That means you are at 520rwkw.
That's got to be a record down here in Australia for that combo.
Through a plastic BS intake. lol
I'm curious to see if it makes any more power at 8000rpm.
I'm not sure if you will gain on e85.
I would assume it would depend on the compression ratio.
I'm on e85 but I never did a tune on 98 vs e85 so I wouldn't know.
One thing I did notice though on e85 it makes the engine way more responsive.
I'm saying to Tony that with my build I want to set the record for a 408.

I find E85 gains are hit and miss. Likely it's based on your compression. Fantastic results, man! Remind me, please, what transmission is this through?

It's through a manual transmission but unsure which one. My guess is the stock trans with an upgraded clutch.
I really want to see what yours does too,
Very curious but it won't be for a while by the looks of things.

In a N/A application it does seem to be like that. I think with being an iron block E85 will add a few hp. Should cool everything down a tad.
Gearbox is a stock T56 with 2.66 1st gear, light flywheel ,twin ceramic mantic clutch 3.45 diff gear

That's probably going to end up being a good gear choice. I'm still rocking my 4.30's. But with the amount of torque the motor makes, that much rear gear turns tires into ice-skates, minus the control.

I will be swapping the 3.45 for a 3.70 in the next week or so. I cant use 6th until 80mph and even then im only at 1800rpm plus max speed limit is 70mph
If it wasnt for 6th id leave as is. Gets off the line easily as is. Im still tossing up whether to put my heavier flywheel in

Don't put the heavier flywheel in. it won't make a difference for bucking and surging. 3.70 is still a good gear. Just don't do anything dumb like 4.30 lol.

259/265 cam with 36 degrees overlap and zero bucking /surging. The heavier flywheel would help when i tow.....
