Only prob is i need to get new exhaust manifold gaskets
Good to hear all is good so far.
Having the right camshaft and less overlap would certainly make it sound tamer.
Keep us updated.

Yeah do that.
I'm interested in SOTP feel compared to before.
I wonder if it will accelerate harder compared to previous camshaft especially up too and how your low end torque is in 6th gear.
You did mention a while ago how you can get it so spin in 6th very easily.

This is exactly why i'm laughing. Just imagining pulling up to a light and hearing that thing and there's a trailer of some sort hooked back there

I dont really think about torque because from 2000rpm it just goes nuts. An example was when it was wet and i was towing a trailer with mower , i was cruising at 1600rpm and when i started to accelerate it just lit up, i do run semi slicks but still to do that at 110kph , top gear, is nuts

Thanks mate... Im pretty happy seeing tho it was my 1st cam install into a car . Ill get it on the dyno this week and see how it goes. My street tuning isnt ideal, due to lockdown i really cant drive it far or long enough to get consistent data

Sounds Great Mick. Congrats!!!! You going to try out drag week since you have the hitch? I bet that would be pretty sick smoking someone with trailer behind you. Lol

bit of drama today. Driving along , look in rear view mirror and see a little smoke. Pull over and as I get out I see flames between hood and windscreen.
adrenalin kicks in big time. Grabbed the front passenger seat fire extinghuiser, I also have 2 in the boot, opened bonnet and it was lit up real good between rear of engine and fire wall. Put it out, luckily not far from home and could roll there.
melted a bit of the engine harness. Started to problem solve and found the valve cover gasket had leaked at very back of the head, oil then went down back of engine onto hot extractors .

Replaced gasket, harness wiring looked intact but no start. Found crank position sensor a little melted so replaced n still no start. Not getting fuel so I'll replace crank sensor and I'm 99% sure thtll fix it
what I will say is if you have a modified car and don't carry a fire extinghuiser, seriously consider getting one.
If I hadn't had mine the car would hv burnt to the ground.
Other than that I'm up to about 70% throttle with street tuning and engines feeling strong

Oh wow.
Lucky you caught it in time.
Why would something like that happen?
Is it something you could check before going for a drive.
I hear ya with the fire extinguisher.
My VZ actually came with one mounted in the boot.
It's still good to go.
