Well, on my first tankful I got about 9 mpg and am up to 11 mpg on the second tankful. But there is a lot of idling and tuning going on. I am pretty good on LTFTs now, but I have enough overlap and reversion with the cam that I don't ever expect that this will idle any way but way rich.

ah, damn, thats crap for gas mileage... i think i'm going to have to look into 383 stroker and see what kinda gas mileage they are getting with that kit.... either that or lookinto getting a forged/balanced bottom end rortating assembly.... and going twin turbo, or supercharged route..... i think TT would give me better gas mileage, as long as i didnt get on it and suck up the fuel.....

The 402 is in and is AWESOME. Actually it has been in for about 6 weeks, but it was another 2 week delay til the fuel pump was in and I have been **** about tuning it so that it can be a reliable daily driver.

But I am now at a spot where I have no cam surge & the car idles darned near like a stock car (with a TSP Torquer on a 112 in it) and it runs like a Beast!!

What an improvement from my 400 rwhp H/C/LT 346. Difference is night and day on the street. The off idle power is awesome.

Thanks to Kris and SDPC for making this all possible.

Perry

PS on my 3rd tankful I am up to 11 mpg. At this rate I will be back to 20 mpg in a few thousand miles <g>

Default Thanks for clarifying the Callies crank price

"The Callies crank, ARP main studs, will bring the price up to $4,999.95. We keep the Callies crank on the shelf so it wouldn't take any longer to build, in fact we have built about 10 of them this way so far.
This will include all LS2 parts needed (front cover, valley cover, and timming set)."

4199.00 seemed like it was too good to be true.

This is still a great deal however, and I can't wait to get mine!!

We have our new catalog at print now, so you should see one in a few weeks. Sorry it's taking so long, but it will have good pricing & and great tech tips also!

Sorry about that man. When I did the original quote I noticed that I left out a few part #'s (Ls2 front cover, timming set, and valley cover). This is still a very good deal. Give me a call or email & we can look into this furter & make sure it's just the way you would want it...

It's alright. I kinda figured $4500-$4700 before I asked anyway. You're right, it is still a hell of a deal. If you'd throw in the billit main caps for that price, I'd be all over it But I still need a tranny to handle essentially just under 1000 fwtq on nitrous. So upgrades in $1000 increments (even for american made parts) I have to weigh pretty heavily

What would it take to have the shortblock support over a 200 shot of nitrous???

I just through a rod through the block and am looking for a new shortblock...

When we go over the two hundred mark with nos, I like to use a "Hell Fire" ring kit, custom pistons (for thicker crown), Callies crank, and Callies rods. A price for this set up I believe runs about $5,200.00. Send me an email or give me a call if we need to get an exact quote together. We would be happy to help in any way that we can.

Default Mad props to Kris

I just want to send a HUGE "Thank You" out to Kris for all the help he's given me.

Trying to build a monster of an engine that's built for boost in the future, while keeping good NA street manners now AND doing our best to get it to pass smog in California has been interesting, to say the least.

Kris has been a tremendous help though - recommending bottom end upgrades, getting custom pistons made, flowing and milling the heads I sent him (no, not AFR's unfortunately), and today he got with the Crane reps and came up with specs for a custom cam. By the time the engine ships, it's going to be a full long block ++

Thanks Kris. You are DEFINITELY "the man!!"

I have about 550 break-in miles on mine, motor only. ATI goes on after break-in. I'm driving it everyday.

I probably have a 1000 miles on mine now. Been too busy to get to the dyno and that is likely to hold up for a month or so. But the Buttometer says it is plenty strong for me. In fact an order of magnitude or 2 stronger than my over 400 rwhp H/C/headers motor that preceded this.

Kinda like sex......I love it without knowing exactly how long it is. But I certainly understand (well not really) why some people can't enjoy it without a measurement to the last silly millimeter.

Wondering what kind of sex it is that you've been having....

Thanks for the report, keep us posted. Any audio or video, in addition to dyno reports when that happens, will be greatly appreciated.
