Default Cable Throttle Body

Plans are to swap a new LS2 into my 88 Monte Carlo and I am keeping the throttle cable...not drive by wire. What throttle body options do I have to bolt to the LS2 intake to make the throttle cable driven again? I know the TB on the LS2 has 4 bolts and is 90mm but I really dont know my options.

Thanks
Nick

The fast 90mm tb. fits perfectly in there.

I think this http://www.sdpc2000.com/catalog/2777...ottle-Body.htm is what I want.

Want an LS2 crate engine to go in a non LS2 car to run a cable throttle - this replaces the one on the LS2 (I hope I do not sound to dumb here!!)

I haven't had a good look at the electric TB's, but maybe you could retrofit a cable shaft into the TB for a lot less $$$.

As 77ZETA said, the FAST throttle body works as well as the Nick Williams 90mm model. From what I heard from Nick, the throttle body bolts up without using the top bolt. It still lines up perfectly though.

he is just stating the truth for the most part. the quality on the FAST tb is substandard for the price, alot of ppl have had various issues with them. id look at the NW one.

FAST can suck it. i got one of the FAST tb from a friend and had problems with it from day 1. I called FAST and asked what the "fix" was thgat they were doing. I called twice both times they said someone would get back to me. never happened. I didn't buy it from them so i didn't want them tro fix it for free, i just wanted to get it fixed.
I had to use FOUR throttle return springs so may car won't "cruise" at 60 mph when i take my foot off the gas. And i have to tap the throttle when i come to a stop sometimes cause theres too much play between the throttle botty cam thingy and the TPS sensor.

I think I'm gonna get the Nick Williams TB...would I see a power increase with one of these over the stock LS2 TB? They are both 4 bolt 90 mm (correct??) but does the Nick William one flow better?

Thanks
Nick

Does the ECU have to have the flybywire part of the programme turned off by the pcm tuner?

Think I might get an LS6 with the camaro Tb as before and 85mm maf for next conversion after all - well this is what I am think right now!

I'm not sure of the flow difference, the NW is a 5 bolt but it will seal fine with 4, I used 5 as overkill. It is a very nice piece and I have had no issues with it at all....definately worth the $$$. i would recommend the NW to anybody !!!

I don't mean to hijack this thread, but I'm thinking about swapping a crate LS2 into my '99 F-body. Is the throttle body the only issue I need to worry about? Can I use my stock ECU (maybe reflashed for fuel curve, etc.)?

Your stock pcm will work fine. You will just have to modify the wiring harness to extend the MAP sensor wires and knock sensor wires and re-tune from there. You would be better off using a LS6 intake with your stock TB than the LS2 intake. Or you could buy the 90mm FAST intake and a TB.
