Default Whats the deal with the GM LS7 Stg 3 Cam - 233/276, .595, 107 lsa

Well Katech and HotRod both did dyno tests with great results with LS7/L92 setup

a 43 degree split! wow...thats just different. That would work to give a huge aide to exhaust side of the head.

The 107 lsa seems like it would move the powerband way down and make it idle REALLY rough for any kind of street setup.

Anyone have any thoughts of it in a L92/L76 408" type setup?

Who said it works? Maybe it doesn't work, the 427ci only makes 604 FWHP and 566 FWTQ, that is way LOW.

LOL, come on, it's got to be a 276 advertised, 233 @.050" single pattern cam.

Because maybe the exhaust flow of the LS7/L92 head blows compared to the intake? This is a crutch cam plain and simple.

Is the 107 the LSA or the ICL?

The GM Grand Am cam has been around for years> 239-251/580/106. It is a favorite carbed short/dirt track cam. We put one in a LS7 with 595 lift and it is ok but not great IMHO. Got it tuned and it idles fine but unhappy below 2k rpm. Works good from 2500- 6200 rpms but because of the longer runner somewhat restriced EFI intake it drops off ~6200 so what do you gain? Better on carbed motors.
The stage 3 has to be more of the same but it is rated with 1.8 LS7 rockers, I think.

The .595 lift is with 1.7 rockers. .630 lift with 1.8's...

I just still cant figure out why there is such a HUGE split and what benefit it has.

How do you think it would compare to a typical 24x/25x type camshaft on a high LSA (112/114)

Would a cam like this really be necessary on ported heads where the exhaust flow has been improved pretty well?

Katech or anyone: have any thoughts about this huge duration split or about the 107 lsa vs standard 112-114 you see most of the time.

Do you really need a split that big with already ported heads So we all know that LS7 heads/Intake is worth 36 more HP than L76/ Ported L92 heads on the same bore and stroke.
