superlax- your not 3 horsepower short .. you removed the resonator . also some may not know /buicks are 25 lbs lighter/ yours is 35 lbs lighter [ no resonator] i think the reason for this is impala ss is bigger inside/ some people did not buy the buick [salesmen] ..whatever, love your buick !! was my first pick to buy but did not ,b/c pay more $ 5,000>8,000.? and chevys will sell faster/ retail later, and may be worth more ? i will tell everybody all red jewel tintcoat cars ,are by far the fastest !! i am so lucky my 2008 ss impala v8 is that color ! rkvette
i need to get my slip scanned but heres the times
Well im not too happy with my times. i did 3 runs back to back without shutting the car off, but the car ran consistant.
1st run
no burnout, using tapshift.
60 ft was a 2.4
1/4 was 14.58 at 97
2nd run
burnout, tapshift
60 ft was 2.4
1/4 was 14.50 at 97
3rd run
burnout, car in drive
60 ft was 2.2
1/4 was 14.50 at 95
i think the consistant times prove that the cai is keeping the air cold but i think it might be restricting it some how as well. i couldnt keep the front end from spinning and my burnouts with the t/c off still felt like it was kicking in somehow. the car was falling on its nose when i launched the car and got wheelspin.

Took my 18 year old son to the track last weekend so he could run his Acura for the first time. I brought the GXP (2006) just for fun. It's basically stock (except Bridgestone 960AS Potenza Pole Position tires). I ran 3 times total. On my first run to my suprise I ran a 13.873@101.7mph. At that point I decided to remove the driver side headlight just to see what it would do. My next run I spun the tires badly and ran a 14.219, but at a heathy 102.11mph. The last run I tried to minimize wheel spin and ran a 13.709@102.61mph. I'm sure there is more as my 60' was 2.110. Track temp was 65*f

Other than the tires and removing the headlight, it's stock. I am a AMSOIL fan, using their 0w-30 oil and synthetic ATF, along with the EA series oil and air filters. The car has about 60,000mi on it, mostly a DD. I did follow the instructions of others on this forum as far as shifting, and disabling the T/C and the Stabilitrack, I don't consider myself particularly adept at drag racing, as it's been a couple of years since I last went (I've never taken the GXP before). I was happy with the results I got, and I'm sure somebody who knew what they were doing (as evidenced by the 2.110 60' time) could do better.
1/8 mile= 8.988 @ 78.227 mph, 60'= 2.03, R/T= 1.83
