Ok, take me off the list. Noises were not tranny related according to the dealer. They even applauded my efforts with the turbo setup. They are a dealer for Mast Motorsports engines and will install one in just about anything so they have some understanding about performance mods. The culprit is my down pipe rubbing against the firewall and the codes were from a tire pressure sensor. It never had any shifting issues. I guess it was just my paranoia. I don't dog the car. It is my only transportation. I am runnning 10.5 psi with the turbo setup now which should have me well above the 400 fwhp mark with no other issues. Yipppppeeee!

*Knock on wood and crossing my fingers it stays this way*
No problems yet, purchased the car on 11/10/2010 with 52,000 miles on it. Had the trans get up to the 190 range on the couple of 70 degree days we were lucky to have in november, never gets above 140-160 right now but its winter. Only driven just over 2K in that time, everything seems cool as far as I can tell. I wonder if the previous owner got pissed off and traded it in after a trans failure and rebuild? It seems a lot of people don't make it far beyond the 60K mark from what I've read. If so, that'd be fantastic for me, but I have no way of knowing really.
Definitely plan on doing a cooler in the spring and I saw somebody makes a deep, finned trans pan with a drain plug. It was kind of expensive but I don't mind if it prolongs the life of a part of the car it is VERY inconvenient to do major service on.
I've got 2 years and 24K of aftermarket warranty on the car so if something happens, hope its during that time.

@sohc96, thanks for posting your experience.
Hopefully, you'll be one of the lucky ones.
One way to know if you have a factory remanufactured trans is there will most likely be a sticker or ink stamp on the casing that says "Inspected." There's probably no way of knowing if you have a non-factory unit or rebuild.
I do recommend a cooler, however, heat is not the primary trans killer in our application, but rather a design and engineering flaw.
For more details, you may want to do a search for my "Transmission Upgrade Thread."

got mine back today (3rd trans in my GXP) 1700 dollars later , trans temp runs @ 178 is that normal? I have a 1 year warranty, & that's longer then I plan to keep the car, I'm going to drive it like I stole it

Sorry for the interrogation, but knowing that stuff will give us a good indication of whether that's a normal temp or not.

I don't think the temps you're seeing are abnormal, considering the driving condtions and outside temp. I would definitely get a cooler on it. You'll see your average temps drop by about 10 degrees, and you might see a lower max of half that.
