Ok so it all began 2 days ago, it was running fine and normal, then all of a sudden I came to a stop and the idle starts to surge. Then the next day it would get worse as I could smell the exhaust and could definitely tell that its not getting proper combustion. The idle would surge not the entire time when Im at a stop, just consistently. Today, it was doing the same thing, and it was even revving up by itself at a stop
. It would fluctuate between 800-500 rpm and even rev up to 1000 rpm and then go back to the 800-500 rpm range. Any ideas out there? I'll be checkin my check engine light tomorrow to see what pops up.

yes there is a check engine light on, I'll get the codes tomorrow. Mods are Pacesetter LT's, Ram Air conversion, replaced with MSD opti and NGK plugs about 2000 miles ago, and it also got the mailorder tune by madtuner.

As far as modding, no I havent done anything to the car lately. I did clean out the throttle body and mass air flow sensor though, other than that, thats it, it still had the same result before and after cleaning them so I dont think I screwed anything up that time.

So the problem was occurring before you cleaned your throttle body/maf? My car did something similiar when the shampoo bottle cap came out from my intake elbow. Do u still have the stock elbow with the donkey dong attached?

I have the same problem but mine surges from 1k to 1.5 rpm it threw code p0100 and another one i cant remember. I gotta find a shop that has a good scanner that can look at all the sensors to see which one is messing up. Let me know if you find the problem first ...

I just got the codes checked out and I only got one code: P0134 Oxygen Sensor Bank1/Sensor 1 no Activity. The check engine light has been on for at least 2 months as I always just ignored it. One thing I did forget to mention was that when it would rev up by itself I did hear a backfire on the exhaust.
