10.82 @ 124.25!!!!!! It's about DAMN time.
It finally happened.
Up until now my best run has been an 11.04 @ 122 with 60's in the 1.55 range. 2 months ago I blew a head gasket, so I tore it all apart, replaced the gaskets with custom Cometics, installed a UMI k-member, a-arms, upper arms, QA1s, and 275# springs, and replaced the 15x8 Welds and ET Streets with 295/55/15 MT drag radials on 15x10s.
Weather was nice and cold, but the track prep wasn't the best. My expectations were fairly low, so here goes the first run.
60' 1.43
330' 4.35
1/8 6.85 @ 98.08
1000' 9.02
1/4 10.84 @ 123.61

Then...
60' 1.45
330' 4.37
1/8 6.86 @ 97.94
1000' 9.04
1/4 10.87 @ 123.4
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SuhQkj2DCis
And the last and best run of the day...(pardon the braking mishap in the beginning...line lock didn't hold the front wheels at first, hah)
60' 1.43
330' 4.35
1/8 6.84 @ 98.54
1000' 9.002
1/4 10.82 @ 124.25

I was absolutely floored with these results. I would have been happy with a high 10.9x, but to almost break into the 10.70s completely caught me off guard. It's amazing what smart planning, good parts, and good air can do for you. For those that aren't familiar with the mods of the car -
Forged 383, AI 200cc ported stock castings, 237/242 custom grind AI stroker cam, ported stock intake manifold, 42# injectors, 1.6s, Cloyes 2x roller, EWP, Canton pan, Melling pump, LPP headers, Hooker cat-back with e-cutout, Ford 9", 3.90 gears, Performabuilt Level 2 transmission, 4000 Performabuilt stall, Weld Pro-Stars, and all the other miscellaneous crap. This is a street-driven, foot-brake, hydraulic roller car. No fancy aftermarket head castings, no single plane intake, no transbrake, still has power steering, not a stripped-out bucket, etc. No nitrous, all motor.
HUGE thanks to Ron and Phil at www.advancedinduction.com, UMI, Bryan Herter at www.pcmforless.com, Tom Snyder (www.snyder-fab.com), www.performabuilt.com Gil Davis Racing Engines, Ricky Green (94Z28rag), and you guys from LS1Tech (well, most of you at least).
YEEEEEE HAAAAAAW MOTHER F**KER!

Hell yea man, thats awesome!
Love that you pulled the front tires and cut a 1.5 60' on MT drag radials. Thats why they are the best, ive never seen anyone do that on 555r's.
Very cool runs man, congrats!
was that other car in the 10.82 vid a supra or a infiniti coupe? Wouldnt be suprised if it was another supra hitting the brakes going down the 1/4 mile

Thanks Mike!
Thanks! I was not expecting a brand new un-burnout-ed tire to hook that good! And the car in the other lane, I think it was a Toyota sedan something or other. I didn't have much time to look at it.
Thanks Wicked!
The only thing I had to do to get them to fit is cut off the bumpstops and modify the rear bumper (only because my LCAs are the non-adjustable variety ). Other than that, they're killer. They're 28" too. I'm crossing the traps at ~6700rpm.

Congrats man! I've always wanted to have a setup with really similar manners to this. It's amazing that those are stock casting heads, a real eye opener to what GM left on the table for many who are sepitcal. This car/setup is a testament to the potential of the LT1 cars, again, props man!

Congratz Joe once i dialed my setup in we probably wouldve run side by side. its getting the nitrous gears and converter though so thats more than likely not gonna happen on motor or nitrous
