Default Lost oil pressure, pics inside

I started a thread about a month ago, where a friends car lost oil pressure suddenly.
https://ls1tech.com/forums/lt1-lt4-m...ame-noise.html

We pulled the motor and disassembled it over the weekend. We found the culprit for the loss of oil pressure. Any thoughts or ideas as to what could have caused this? The cam gear looks perfect.

Once we pulled the motor, I noticed that the freeze plug on the back of the motor behind the cam looked relatively new, while all the others did not. The previous owner of the car says he knows the motor was torn apart for a head gasket job before he bought it. I'm wondering if they rebuilt the motor all the way and could have possibly put the wrong cam back in the car? I have heard that the wrong material cam can do this.

The back cam freeze plug usually stays newer looking.

Looks like the distributer gear was for a flat tappet cam.

When I say newer looking, I mean spotless, and the 3 small plugs around it are spotless, and shiny as new. The other 2 freeze plugs on the back of the motor look pretty dirty.

Sounds normal. They are shielded from the weather and don't exposed to the same things as the others.

More shielded than the plug to the left and the one just to the right of the center one?

Hi,
i would look at improper installation with perhaps the gears not meshing properly. On several instances things were dropped into engine and created issues along with shop rags in the oil pump. I would double check everything and pre-prime prior to starting( use a drill). Have a blessed day.......

Is this a (presumably) stock motor?

It was supposed to be a stock motor. The only numbers I can find on the cam are gmpt•bc•16•••705. With dots just like that.
